It’s summer time, your kids are on their summer break and all you want to do is keep them occupied so they won’t burn down your house? Get into vacation mode and start planning where to go and what to do on your next family holiday. Don’t wander aimlessly across the World Wide Web; check out these amazing destinations for a family vacation. You know what? you’ll probably end up having more fun than your kids!


So much history, a fascinating cultural experience, and you can always tell your kids that you are about to embark on a magical journey to find Mulan and help her save China! Also, don’t be an amateur, remember Mushu, the dragon.

How long should your vacation be? No less than 10 days.

Must see: The Great Wall of China is one of the world’s most interesting pieces of architecture, a UNESCO World Heritage site with much history behind it. Even if your kids are bored from the long climb, it will all be worth it when they get to slide down the toboggan.

When the 2008 Beijing Olympics came to an end, the Chinese were left with a massive venue, and nothing to do with it. And so, the venue had received a massive makeover and was transformed into an indoor water park that can be used all year long. In the Water Cube, you’ll find the deep sea tornado water slide, the magic whirlpool, and many other wet attractions.

Ocean Park (Hong Kong)

The amusement park offers a wide range of activities for your family. From thrilling rides (both wet and dry!) and journeys throughout the park to a bird theater and various animal shows. Be sure to catch the dolphin and sea mammal acts, can’t promise you’ll stay dry.

Hong Kong Disneyland (Hong Kong)

With a Walt Disney hallmark, you really can’t go wrong. In Hong Kong Disneyland you’ll find all of the beloved Disney characters alongside magical attractions. Summer of 2017 especially celebrates Marvel superheroes, so you’ll find many relevant activities.

Dinosaur Park (Changzhou)

Guys, there’s a Dinosaur Island! Don’t worry, it’s not Jurassic Park style. While you won’t find live dinosaurs there, you will be able to enjoy hot springs, green gardens, a water park that’s open in July and August, and many thrilling facilities.

Price range: 40-80 Yuan.


Home of ancient Vikings and the little mermaid. The Scandinavian country is noticeably children friendly. You can find many activities that would be enjoyable for your kids, as well as yourself.

How long should your vacation be? Minimum 5 days.

Must see: Kronborg Castle. The 16th century castle is quite spectacular; you can visit the royal chambers and a banqueting hall. In addition, it was the theoretical playground of Shakespeare’s Hamlet.

Tivoli Gardens (Copenhagen)

The amusement park that inspired Walt Disney. Tivoli Gardens offers many attractions, restaurants, flower gardens, and much more. In addition, two weeks before Halloween, the park transforms into a spooky wonderland, and after 6pm “monsters” are let loose.

The Original LEGOLAND (Billund)

This resort is much more than just a few pieces of Lego put together. In the original Legoland you’ll find adventures, dragons, Vikings, an aquarium with live sharks and giant crabs, you’ll be able to embark on a journey in Pirate Land, and of course, visit Miniland and experience the world as a giant.    

Price range: Prices start at 300 Danish Krone. However, there are group discounts, and if you purchase your tickets online you can get a nice discount.

The Blue Planet / National Aquarium Denmark (Copenhagen)

When you enter The Blue Planet, the largest aquarium in Northern Europe, you’ll immediately get the feeling that you’re under water; this is due to the aquarium’s unique architecture. Alongside magnificent sea creatures and a colorful coral reef, you’ll see piranhas and anacondas that were brought straight from the Amazon River.

Viking Ship Museum (Roskilde)

Sail like a Viking! The Viking Ship Museum gives you a glimpse into the lives of the ancient sea voyagers, through a reconstructed Viking ship. Also, you can have a wider understanding of the medieval lifestyle with an exhibition of the cooking utensils used by Vikings.

Boca Del Rio Park (San Pedro Town)

Part water park, part playground. Boca Del Rio Park is open to the public and offers swings and water slides alongside a volleyball court, a jungle gym and lovely picnic spots.

Mayflower Bocawina National Park (Stann-Creek District)

This is where adventure begins. Bird watching is big in the Central American country, and in the park you can find the longest Zipline in Belize, which will allow you to fly amongst the winged creatures. In addition, you can see the waterfalls and more Mayan ruins.

Hello Kitty! And welcome to the land of the rising sun. Be sure to catch the mesmerizing cherry blossom, the iconic Mount Fuji, and the sacred temples. In Japan you’ll find many kid-friendly destinations.

Must see: Tokyo’s Imperial Palace. Located in the city center and surrounded by massive stone walls, the palace is the main residence of the Japanese emperor and his family.

The Ghibli Museum (Mitaka)

Some say it’s even better than Disneyland. The Ghibli Museum celebrates the art and animation of the Japanese studio. This museum is really a must see for Japanese art fans. Visit the mermaid lagoon, mysterious islands, and travel underwater. You’re guaranteed a Disney thrilling experience.

Nara Deer Park (Nara)

At the foothills of Mount Wakakusa, you’ll find one of the oldest parks in Japan. The public park is open 24/7 and is home to hundreds of deer who roam free around the premises. If you’re looking for Bambi, he’s probably there.

Orlando, USA

Last, but definitely not least. Orlando is where you’ll find the happiest place on earth, aka Walt Disney World. This is one place that really doesn’t need a proper introduction.

How long should your vacation be? Let’s be honest, you can spend eternity in Orlando and never run out of things to do and see. But, if you must set limits – a minimum of 5 days.

Must see: Walt Disney World Resort. You might even find Mickey Mouse sitting next to you in one of the rides.

Literally everything! Go to Universal Studio, Magic Kingdom, Epcot, and Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
