Carreg Samson (also known as Carreg Sampson, Samson's Stone, or the Longhouse) is a 5000-year-old Neolithic dolmen located half a mile west of Abercastle near the Pembrokeshire Coast Path in Wales.
It is called "Samson" because of a local legend that Saint Samson of Dol placed the capstone in position with his little finger.

A beautiful and striking piece of archaeology which can be combined with a visit to the lovely port of Abercastle which is less than half a mile away along the coastal path. Carreg Samson is sadly lacking from any form of interpretation panels to explain its significance. It is believed to be many thousands of years old! Thousands! And it is just sitting in a field waiting to be discovered.
