Free entry, no wheelchair access/pushchairs etc. If you're up for a flight of stairs, its a great way to spend 30 mins.

A very interesting walk around the old building. The exhibitions are limited but include historic maps of Aberdeen, as well as miniature models and an old city drum dating from the 1800s. If you are interested in architecture the building itself is about as interesting as anything inside.

Old maps of Aberdeen are displayed in the museum, it shows the change of land use and town expansion over time, very intriguing. Also the history of Tolbooth and related stories can be found. Staff is knowledgable, he told us other interesting facts of building. It is small and free, better than ghost house in amusement park, worthy to visit.

A very interesting museum, entrance is free. Any ladies who visit it would be a good idea to wear a pair of flat shoes, as the stairs are steep narrow and winding to say the least. Be sure to give a donation on your way out, to help keep this fantastic museum open.

A must see if you are just visiting Aberdeen. Completely free and historically enriching I loved it. I've gone back at least 2 times since being here.

Very informative with lots to see. It's not a huge place so don't expect to be in here long if you're not into reading all the information. But if you take your time to have a read it's actually very informative and has some really interesting stories to be told. Unfortunately due to the age and design of the building it's not at all suitable for persons who cannot ascend/decend on a medieval spiral staircase with no solid hand rail. But if you can manage it it's worth a visit 100%

Friendly and helpful staff, not a huge amount to see but worth a visit to hear the stories from the previous occupants.

An interesting place to visit. Travel back in time and see how prisons were..

Must have been brutal being locked in there, just seeing the handcuffs would have been bad enough. Loved the talking mannequin on the 3rd floor explaining what it was like to be there. So lifelike but it must have been horrible for all of them considering it was being in debt that put them there.
