Merkato is the world's largest outdoor market and is a sight to see. There are blocks upon blocks of street vendors selling everything imaginable. If you're not Ethiopian, good luck bargaining.

This place is chaos. I wouldn't go without a local guide - it's very easy to get lost, and you can't conceive how big it is. We paid a taxi driver to show us around. Look out for pick-pockets. But we had a great time.

Cheapest shopping n Addis. Literally everything is half priced compared to Bole. Have to bargain hard. Went alone and didn't have problems. Getting there and back is difficult but possible using micro bus or metro. Many cool cafes and juice shops. Difficult to find clothing size for big man.
