Beautifully large church! We were able to go inside and see the lovely stained glass windows. The area around the church is nice as well.

Realy interesting church. It´s a nice view from the hill so make sure to go there. You can´t miss it.

You need to climb up some stairs to get to this church. Don't forget to look up at the bottom of the stairs and admire the church. And don't forget to look at the view on Akureyri and the fjord when you are at the top of the stairs, it is wonderful. It is a small church, but a really nice one with lovely windows and such.

You can drive up and park next to the church. We didn't know, parked at the bottom of the stairs and gotten the parking card from the Kea hotel next to the church. The church looks grand from the bottom of the staircase. Small church, interesting architecture. It was not open when we were there. Short climb up allow you to see the surrounding area of Akureyri.

Beautiful church inside and doubly-so on the outside, with views across Akureyri that are tough to rival without being on the other side of the fjord.

A highlight of Akureyri :) The architecture of the church is quite unique, but unfortunately it was closed when I was there. I wish I could have gone inside it. But anyway, still got some decent photos, and the view from the top of the hill is also pretty nice.

This church is on the mountain you won’t miss and you can park on spot free of charge. Also a good spot to view the harbour of Akureyri.

Small, pleasant, very modest church.

it was designed by Guðjón Samúelsson, the architect responsible for Reykjavík’s Hallgrímskirkja. Built in 1940, the church contains a large 3200-pipe organ and a series of rather un- traditional reliefs of the life of Christ
