Lovely setting. Pods a great outlet for local vendors. Such interesting gift opportunities Sea Life centre very interesting with their lobster hatchery.
Beautiful day for a visit. Enjoyed a boat ride around Coquet Island, pity there weren't more choice of boat rides! Had a meal in the fish restaurant on the front - bit overpriced sadly. Had a paddle from the sheltered bay - lovely area for a picnic. Too hot to bother with the shops but enjoyed looking around the new shopping area on the front.
Love looking round all the rooms and poking about the bits and pieces one! Have bought many lovely bits over the years. More craft work appearing now.
Excellent place for a day out. Plenty of shop's to browse around. Have some lunch at the harbour. Lovely little cafe to get some refreshments. Sit and watch the Boats coming and going. Everyone around the area is very polite and helpful.
Great little souvenir shops to visit. Lots of places for a cup of tea or coffee. The best fish n chips in the north east. Can ice cream. I had salt n caramel. Well worth a visit on a sunny day
We went for the annual puffin festival and it was great. There was plenty of stuff for kids to do like a climbing wall, story telling, crafts and sports. There was also live video links so you could see the puffins. The village itself is lovely. They have market pods, loads of places to each and a nice little beach where you can hire beach huts.
This funky little area of town has a number of small huts, each containing lovely little stores with all kinds on offer, from a cheese shop or coffee shop, through to arts and crafts, and clothing and handbags. All the shopkeepers were friendly, and the variety of goods on offer is interesting. Also keep an eye out for Oscar the cat, he's a stray who has adopted the area as his home and gets looked after by some of the shopkeepers. He's a friendly wee soul who loves to get some attention when he's not snoozing!
Good to amble around. Lobster hatchery worth a visit as well as eating at the old boathouse.
A really pretty harbour on a nice day. A very good market on a Sunday Morning and good crafty shops.
OK for a quick stroll around and look at the small huts selling local produce etc. I would not go expecting to spend a long time here though, after an hour or so you'll want to move on up the coast where the beaches are superb.
Sunday, bank holiday weekend. Stupidly busy because no parking spaces. Eventually parked and the market was as good as ever. Fish stall is just amazing,
Been coming to Amble for 40 years and always loved it. Now totally rebranded and more OK Yah but still full of good down to earth folk . great to visit
Loved a wander round the 'Pods', sausage on a stick for lunch was delicious. Very interesting visit to the Hatchery. Definitely recommend a visit.
Great variety of stalls, great to see a market thriving somewhere north as they all died out over the past 20 yeard6
Sounds like an extensive area from title..however is a very compact its good to have a browse..and has some quality commercial outlets..but whether you will want to return..?
Absolutely love Amble. Quaint little village but a lot going on, some lovely restaurants, nice walks, little market on a weekend and some of the best fish and chips. The only problem with Amble is the parking, there's never enough because it's a popular place and the public toilets aren't the best but they're guaranteed to be open .
