Awful conditions of the monkeys and other animals. Chained up. The worker was feeding the monkeys an energy drink to make them hyper. They were either angry and over hyped (probably from energy drink) or scared . None of them had water and were fixated by the water we were carrying and trying to get it. The bananas we fed them seemed like the only food they’d had all day! Don’t support this and don’t visit
This place is like hell for animals. The owners should be ashamed and I totally regret giving them my money. I left completely heartbroken and it destroyed my holidays. As for people who give 5 stars to this place and find their experience "unforgettable" I suggest them to see a psychiatrist.
This visit was upsetting to say the least. I'm still ashamed I contributed money by visiting this place, I was not prepared for the terrible conditions these animals are being kept in. I hope and pray, I plead to the owners if they see these reviews, PLEASE put the money towards improving their home. This is no place to live. For starters, the monkeys are either chained by the neck or kept in a thick wire cage. The animals are either aggressive or depressed and inactive. The child monkeys are clingy, almost desperate, and they are kept away from their mothers. Conflict between monkeys seems to be encouraged. The birds fare even worse. I saw one that was absolutely tattered, flapping about wildly in the corner trying to get somewhere. Many of the birds are losing feathers. Two rather large falcons are being kept together in a SMALL cage with virtually no room to fly AT ALL, their wingspan won't allow it. There's a squirrel being kept in a tiny tiny cage, the list goes on. After seeing what was arguably the most depressing show I've seen in my life, the young man managing it began stressing us to leave, even though we had paid for entry and not been there for more than 30 minutes. I think he noticed our reactions to the conditions the animals were being kept in. I'm not sure how to conclude this, it was just a deeply stirring and emotional experience for me and I urge everyone to do their piece by NOT visiting. I plan on looking into animal rescue organizations after this and reviewing options for what can be done. These are beautiful and intelligent animals, and I'm glad I got to meet and connect with them, but it's overridden by a profound sense of grief knowing the suffering they live through.
DON'T GO HERE A horrendous place. The staff practically bullies the poor monkeys. They keep the animals in dirty cages. Two eagles were trapped in a tiny cage - just imagine how many miles they soar every day when free. Please don't put your money in this sorry establishment. I truly regret it.
Awful place to visit. Certainly regret going there. Animals are in disgusting and terrible conditions. Chained or caged, filthy old water, no sign of food, small living area in their own feces. Never seen anything like it, first trip out of New Zealand and was horrified that animals could be treated this way. Koh Samui is a lovely place but the way some of them treat their animals is horrible. Do not give these bastards your money, spend a little more and support the Elephant Sanctuary. The way they look after the elephants is beyond excellent.
