Great hotel. 5* service, amenities and cleanliness. Why I am giving 4 stars? Street noise! which in some rooms (mine and friends’) is not acceptable because of the poor sound proofing. And these streets in Amsterdam are full or noisy lads every night.
The Barbizon is convenient to all forms of transportation. Just a short walk. Many restaurants are located within 2 blocks. Easy to walk. Many cafes and breakfast places. Th hotel itself is beautiful. The lobby warm and welcoming with water and sweet treats throughout the day and early evening. Our rooms was beautiful. Bed very comfortable with an abundance of pillows. Plenty of toiletries and towels. And a well stocked mini-bar! No complaints. The only reason I did not give it a 5th star was because the WC ( ladie’s and men’s room) were downstairs. A marble staircase...
From our check in and throughout our visit we felt very well taken care of! We did mention a check and that we were here celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary and Tuan ended up letting the staff know. When we arrived in our room later that day it was filled with balloons and a handwritten congratulations card. Daniel Smit At the concierge as well as all of his colleagues have taken excellent care of us. Monika helped us several times, including taking good care of our luggage until her room is ready. And Richard is the one who actually place the balloons in our room. It felt so lovely to be in a place that cares about their guests. We also paid more to have a view and are so happy that we did. The beds are very comfortable and the shower is outstanding.
