Nice and 'gezellige' Amsterdam market. Perfect for cheap fabrics and good fruit, vegetables and fish. I love that at the end of the day the herons are everywhere on top and around the fish stand to enjoy the last bits of fish. Such a weird sighting in the middle of the city.

Amazing market to visit if you have more than a day to spend in Amsterdam/The Netherlands. We went here in summer 2017 and had a nice time just walking across the length of the market (which is around 30-45 minutes if you check out all stalls and snack here and there). Really recommend the "poffertjes" (Dutch mini pancakes) stand somewhere in the middle.

Nice market with all sorts of stuff. It has cheese stalls and stalls with junk as well as clothing, bags and a wonderful nut stall. All in all a good street market, although it can get very packed. Closed on Sundays. Well worth a quick visit.

It’s largest street market in the Netherlands. Overall there is lot of variety available in this street market. Generally people go there to buy fresh fruits, vegetables, dry fruits and cheese. There are stores containing clothing and electronics but quality of these items is not good. From touristic point of view it is a good to experience to Dutch street market atmosphere.

Extensive street market with all the usual market traders selling fruit & veg. meat, flowers plus trinkets & tourist tat, clothes, handbags, tools, household wares, etc. BUT also a fair few stalls selling foodstuffs - which in itself make the visit worthwhile. A lot of Dutch foodstuff including biscuits & pastries, breads, chocolates, cheese etc. Plenty of food cooked on the spot so great cheap place to go for lunch. Definitely cheaper to buy all the gifts for home rather than the city centre!

Great selection of fresh produce and fish. Open shopping street fun for browsing by yourself or with friends and family. The market also offers hot food ready to eat along with several different cheese stands as well. If you are not looking for food there is a variety of other stuff as well that changes throughout the year depending on the season.

It's pretty good. Does reflect the whole of Amsterdam becoming a Disney World, rather than the fearless frontier of psychedelic sanity it once was, but hey. You can have a nice wurst and still buy a novelty clog fridge magnet.

really really cool. THE place to go for cheaper souvenirs, good traditional food, and also see a bit of the 'normal' life in amsterdam - away from the center with the red light and drug tourism. bought the most beautiful hat there! also there's some cool birds. 10/10 would recommend.

Very good street market. It has a lot o different food types and all the typical sweets from Amsterdam. A great place with family and kids. Behind the street market there are a lot of places selling local stuff and fabric. Second time here, will come back again.

This is a fun place to be at. You can experience the past and present of Amsterdam through various shops and artifacts. The location is very close to city center and has easy access. The restaurants around the market are great and you can meet the locals and have great conversation. The only downside is that some of the stuff on offer is really cheap and low quality.

Good food, average flea market. Google says it opens at 9am but we got there a little after 10am on a Tuesday and half the stalls were still setting up. Best to go after 11am on a weekday.

It's a great local street market. A lot of fresh fruits and vegetables (great price!), fresh and smoked fish and seafood, cheese, chocolate, some treats like roast chicken, sandwiches, pancakes, fries and freshly made stroopwafels! There are also some souvenirs and other random stuff. Don't miss it!

Great place for cheap souvenirs and some fun food. We really enjoyed it the first time we went to Amsterdam so 2 weeks later we made sure to go back. They have some great variety of stands there. We had fresh herring, fruit drinks, fries with mayo and peanut sauce, stroopwaffles, and more. It was a fun experience to talk with locals and try local flavors.

There's many tourists so it can feel a bit busy, but by no means is it a "tourist trap" or anything of the sort. There's a huge variety of food for surprisingly good prices. I come here as it is a great shopping experience. When comparing this to going to an Albert Heijn, there is more variety, much cheaper prices, and just being here is a lot of fun. Be sure to bring anyone visiting the city, it'll make their Amsterdam experience better!

We went on a weekday so not many options to choose from. Maybe the weekends are better. The stuff we did eat was really good. But it would have been better if there were more options.

Went here just for some food and glad we did!!! Ate cheese....ate olives....ate freshly baked danish ginger cookie....ate ate ate. I love a good market and this one was small but had the food we were interested in. I'd recommend if you have some time to fill or need a snack.

If you love street markets definitely go here. I loved going here but wish I could have seen a little more variety with the shops. I saw the same thing over and over. Loved going here though!

I love this place. This is a long street full of shops selling food, clothing, electronics accessories. I go there to eat waffles. There is this shop which makes fresh waffle. I have never tasted waffle so delicious. Not even in belgium. You can find shops to buy dry fruits, fresh fishes, cheap dresses and shoes, books and what not. A must visit place

This is a great example of a market for locals and not one for the tourist euro. Great everyday products and normal prices. We picked up some lovely food items and the smell was really good. Great market!

The atmosphere here sucks you in and makes you feel one with the neighborhood. The various stalls of food and merchandise are so numerous to be able to cater to any craving or need you may have. Be sure to stop by the handmade stroopwafel stand!

This is quite a size. Sometimes the same type of shop recurs and sometimes the price from one place to another varies. This is definitely a place to walk through once to get your bearings and to spot a bargain and again to be sure and have a second look at that thing that caught your eye. Definitely a touristy feel with many shops selling 'Amsterdam' clothing and souvenirs. Take your time and don't be afraid to ask questions, most vendors speak English.

Cool market, lots of good places to eat if you want to have some local Dutch food. Shops seemed to sell very similar products. Lots of t-shirts, dress and belt shops. There are some unique shops, but more the exception than norm. Neat market though, worth the walk through though.

Multi ethnic market. And so also the public. Beautiful atmosphere. Vegetables and fruit from all over the world, very fresh, fish and other; and excellent prices. But buy only what you can eat in the coming days. Careful deadlines

The must visit market in Amsterdam. Don't miss it. It has a large number of stalls on the roadside selling a variety of knicks and knacks. Good place to buy souvenirs. And most importantly try the French fries with variety of sauces. They are the best fries in the world served piping hot. It closes by six pm. A must visit place in Amsterdam
