A wonderful museum. Larger than I expected & very kid friendly. Packed with history and modern developments. Tells a lot about the development of Amsterdam as a people city. I had expected more about the canals, but the museum is more people orientated and not worse fir that. You will need mire time than you expect. Recommended

A large and well organized museum. Packed with history and modern developments. Tells a lot about the development of Amsterdam as a people city. I had big expectations and they were fulfilled. Highly recommended.

Very nice museum explaining the past and present history of Amsterdam. The multimedia follow along was very helpful. Great to go when you first arrive to learn about Amsterdam. We had a very nice experience at this museum.

Interesting stuff to see and hear. If you want to learn about Amsterdam history this is your place. Also it has an audio guide which is mandatory if you want to learn about Amsterdam. The place is big enough compared to the other major palaces and might take around two hours to give it a tour, that includes hearing everything from the audio guides.

Free audio guide (easy to use). Lockers for bag storage are refundable €1 coin (ask the reception nicely for a coin). Small but with plenty of history to learn about Amsterdam.

The Amsterdam Museum is nice to visit for the good overview of the history and architecture of Amsterdam. The audio tour was helpful and entertaining. I suggest using it if you want to get the most out of your visit. The museum itself is not very big and took me less than 2 hours to peruse all of the exhibits. Although my visit was brief, by the end I had learned a great deal about the city.

Great experience to get a sense of the history and role of Amsterdam. Has a free audio guide that I definitely recommend. You should plan for about 90 minutes to walk through and listen to most of the story. Also very much recommended is the part for kids up to 10 that takes them through an interactive experience of living in Amsterdam in the past.

The museum is quite big, a bit of a labyrinth. This is the part for which you need to buy tickets. It shows the history of Amsterdam extensively and in a very interactive manner, as well as various exhibitions. The audio guide is free, and they offer 10 different languages to choose from. It is most defnitely worth the visit!! The Gallery, a hallway with a variety of art, is situated next to the museum. This is a very nice free addition to the actual museum. Overall, a fantastic museum to visit if you are in Amsterdam and want to know more about this lovely city.
