Amazing place to take kids!! Really interactive and full of colour. Perfect size... Small enough that it doesn't take too long to see and the kids don't get bored but also big enough that you could come again and notice / learn something new. Facilities are also good (lockers, accessible toilets etc.) and the shop has some lovely things at reasonable prices. We've been twice and would visit again :)

So much to do, so much fun. Four floors of practical science learning geared towards kids, but adults will find plenty to keep them busy too. The highlights for us were the dam building, the ball sorting and the chain reaction circuit. The cafe is also very good so you can very easily spend a whole day here. Lockers are very handy too. Views from the roof can be had for free!

Is a lot of fun to play around the various exhibits and re-experience all the science experiments you did as a child. They have a great café on the top where you can relax and have a bit more quiet time. One of the unexpected finds with this place was the view from the top. The 'entrance' is quite odd as you have to walk up a giant series of steps to the top and then you work your way down. NEMO is one of the best science museums in the world. Lots of interactive exhibits and it really does make learning fun!Incredible building designed in the shape of a ship. Nice to enjoy the rooftop of the building as well.

A friend and I walked in here accidently; he wanted to go to a maritime museum (which he was convinced was this building, but it was actually the building across the street). We bought the tickets, walked in and then to the first floor. It looked like the kids level, so we decided to keep climbing in hopes that the second floor will be all about ships. But no, more science stuff (aimed at kids/young people). I decided to look up on Google about this place (which I should have done earlier), and turns out it's a science museum. Anyways, we decided to stay because we had spend €15 each for entry. And I'm glad we stayed because this place was a lot of fun. There's absolutely something in there for you, regardless of your age. A whole lot of interactive stuff too, which keeps you involved and occupied. A definite recommend! If you have kids, definitely take them with you. You'll love the place and thank you for taking them along.

First thing that one notices is that this museum is heavily oriented to children. Nothing bad about it, but important to note down. We spent almost two hours just checking out one of the floors, so one might well need a full day to thoroughly visit the museum. The section that explores the connection between the brain and the sight is really worth visiting. Some other sections are fully addressed to kids. All in all, a nice visit. Museumkaart is valid there.

This is a great interactive experience. My daughter is 3.5yrs old and I feel she is a bit young to get the best out of it. But she did love running around. I can imagine we will be regular visitors to Nemo over the next few years. The restaurant on the top floor is nice, a little bit expensive with not enough food options for kids I felt but the views from the terrace across Amsterdam are great.

Great science museum for children of all ages. Located 8 min walking from Amsterdam central station so can be reached via trains, trams or bicycles. Everything is self operated, nothing is forbidden, hundreds of activities, all are briefly explained in Dutch and English. No need for a map, just let the kids find their interest. Recommended time for a visit is 3-5 hours. Free lockers available on ground floor. Eat at the restaurant on top level or bring your own snacks. Price is 16.60 euro for ages 4+.

Best play/learning ground for families in the whole city! Adults have a lot to read and learn themselves while kids play with all the amazing toys. There's also a section for teens and the cafe on the top floor is relaxing and the view of the whole city is breathtaking from up there. Modern, fun, scenic, educative. It's located only one bus ride away from the central station.

My kid really enjoyed this place and played with a lot of the sections there, my wife and I are also enjoyed as adults. We grabbed nice coffee and desert at the first floor coffee house. The second time I was there with a geek friend and it was also fun and highly recommended for all people of all ages.

The place seems oriented mostly towards children. I don't mean to discourage anyone from visiting, but the place feels like that. The exterior design is magnificent, but the actual museum is mostly children friendly. It should be a great destination for families! When the weather allows you to go outside, the open terrace is brilliant as well.

Science coming alive A lot of activities for kids of all ages. Take your family and tell them where you are having coffee (in one of the cafes on every level) and hours later some very excited kids come back. It's an interesting place for adults but only really worth the money if you bring at least one or more children. They will have a ball.

One of the coolest buildings around Amsterdam, great place to view the city from, to catch some sun ☀️ or grab some lunch. Bit pricey but you’ll get some great photos from up there. Great place to watch people. And to walk up and down the stairs. They have an elevator as well. The museum is amazing with lots of unique exhibitions. Amazing and very friendly staff. Very clean.

I was expecting to learn lots of new things but apparently - also judging from the sheer number of small children - it is rather an introduction to science. Most of the things could be tested personally and there was a cool chain reaction performance with too much talking involved. So if you are visiting Amsterdam with kids or are interested but not very advanced in science this museum is definitely worth a visit.

The building is uniquely designed. The stuff are mainly for kids but still there are a lot of items which adults also can enjoy or learn something. We took the stairs from outside to get to the roof first and the view there is amazing. I suggest to go for this side if u want to also enjoy the beautiful views of Amsterdam. Of course you can buy also the ticket there and enter the museum. There is also a restaurant/cafe there which you can get something to it or drink.

We (two adults) went here midweek and only entered as we had time to kill before a train. So glad we went! We loved it and ended up spending 4.5 hours here. We could have stayed longer but had a train to catch. The entire museum is interactive and we tried all the exhibits and had loads of fun. The museum has lockers on the entrance level that are free (.50 deposit in the locker) which was fantastic as we didnt have to lug our bags around. The museum works it's way up levels to the top which has a cafe and the outdoor roof terrace. The roof terrace is very unique and again could have relaxed out there longer but was short for time. Entry was $16.50 and I'd recommend for friends to go. Have fun!!

This place is AWESOME! I recently went there with my wife and daughters and we had such a great time! The museum is fully interactive for kids and adults, and the games and exhibits are of a high quality. The staff is very friendly as well. It is located within a walking distance from the train station. Fully recommend it for a day of fun and discovery!

I didn’t go inside but i went onto the roof! There were so many kids, the view was beautiful! They have these fountains where you turn the controller and water goes up, and the faster you turn, the higher it goes! The kids loved that! There are also binoculars that you can use to look at the city and they are absolutely free! The whole place is very alive and fun, just hanging out and watching the people, or coming there with kids, or sitting down to read a book, anything can be done there! It’s so much fun :)

Beautiful modern architecture! Wonderful views of the canal and the area around it from the museum rooftop. The exhibitions were educative, focusing on the 3rd floor and the human section. It challenged my perceptions of social and biological drives and behaviours. Lots of learning and entertainment! Loved it 💙

This place is mostly geared towards teaching children about scientific principles, however I really enjoyed seeing how the Dutch present this information to their kids. Tons of fun, interactive exhibits that don't shy away from discussing the underlying equations and current research if you're willing to stay and read a while. Comfortable rooftop cafe and bar with a spectacular view of the city. Unfortunately my pictures are on my other camera.

Beautiful chaos! This museum has something for any age, and it’s an active demonstration of entropy. I’d say best to bring a kid who is in the 6-12 age range. There are tons of hand-on, interactive exhibits and an amazing variety of scientific ideas that make this museum a great family activity.

Must visit for all! irrespective of age.. It's science all over... overwhelming but an absolute delight! Their mini chemistry lab, family workshops and various activities give all visitors a very interesting touch and feel experience with science .. their chain reaction show was the best. Kids loved it...

Great museum. Nice to go to on a rainy day or on a beautifully day for that matter. The kids like it so much. You can sit on top of the roof and eat in the restaurant there. You can over see the entire city with good weather. Bring your camera! After a visit you can go to Artis zoo. It's just 15min walk away.

It's a super interactive hands-on science museum for kids. In my opinion adults can also enjoy it，but it seams to be more oriented towards kids. During midday you will have to wait a while to get to one of the interactive stations, which can be a bit stressful when your with kids, as they are seldom very patient, so I would recommend coming early. The view from top is awesome and you don't need a ticket to access is from the outside. It is free entry with the I Amsterdam city card.

Free rooftop science and views. Use the lift or the external staircase to access the roof area and restaurant and toilets for free. Lots of fun water features and science play for all ages. Excellent viewing platform with information about many buildings you can see in Old Town. Well worth a look. You can access the shop and the water clock on the ground floor too. We also paid for my 16 year old to go into the science museum. She spent 3 hours there and really enjoyed it. Suitable for all kids over 3.
