The Stedelijk Museum Amsterdam (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈsteːdələk myˈzeːjʏm ˌɑmstərˈdɑm]; Municipal Museum Amsterdam), colloquially known as the Stedelijk, is a museum for modern art, contemporary art, and design located in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
The 19th century building was designed by Adriaan Willem Weissman and the 21st century wing with the current entrance was designed by Benthem Crouwel Architects. It is located at the Museum Square in the borough Amsterdam South, where it is close to the Van Gogh Museum, the Rijksmuseum, and the Concertgebouw.
Fun contemporary and modern art museum! They have lots of pieces from many different famous artist. My favorite part is the art after the 2000s which is displayed when you first walk in and go straight ahead. They accurately with good detail give backgrounds non the artist too. Cute cafe and a nice gift shop. I also appreciate how they will hold your luggage if you happen to have that with you

So the building looks like a bathtub but it does contain some seriously amazing art. Really love the ongoing Studio Drift exhibition - such interesting kinetic art! Be prepared to spend a good few hours in here to fully take in everything.

Stedelijk is once again pushing the boundaries of art in motion. Love the timeline journey from the ground-floor to the temporary exhibitions upstairs. It was informative, forced us to think more and gave us many emotions. Highly recommended!

I'm not generally a fan of modern art, but this was well worth a visit! They actually commission pieces, which is pretty cool. The floating giant block of concrete is amazing. Several exhibits were too overwhelming for my 2 year old (weird lights and/or sounds). But a slightly older kid would like this place way more than the rijksmuseum or similar art museum.

It's modern art right? I don't get it and I did not feel comfortable or get interested in anything there. I do not even know a person to recommend these expositions to. The best thing was that my girlfriend was with me and both of us could laugh at it that we do not get The point of this.

Stedelijk is Amsterdam's modern art museum. The content is rich and eclectic. Coded Nature by Studio Drift alone is worth the admission. I look forward to visiting again - when I make a another visit to Amsterdam this museum is one that's well worth a second look.

Surprisingly good. I really enjoyed this gallery. There are many interesting and thought-provoking exhibits. I would recommend paying a visit, especially if you have the `iamsterdam` card. While we were there there was a live dance performance, which we enjoyed.

One of the best contemporary art museums I’ve been to! Great curation and amazing exhibitions (particularly Coded Nature and A Fragile Beauty). Definitely worth visiting :)

You really have to like modern art to enjoy this place. As a casual art fan this left a lot to be desired. I felt the exhibition on the 60s movement was lacking actual art. There were a lot of exibits with minimal stuff and lot and lots of explinations. The light installations were the best part.
