Great view of Antigua, easy to walk up with big stairs. There’s cute little vendors selling their wares too
Breathtaking spot for a short visit. You can enjoy the view of the volcanoes and the entire Antigua area from an unobstructed mountain top. My son and I decided to take a tuk-tuk ride up the hill because we preferred not to walk in an area we were not familiar with , with our cash and passports on our person. Our driver waited for us and brought us back to town. We visited at around 10:30 am. It was perfect. There are vendors all along the area and on top of the hill. :-)
A must if you visit Antigua. Great view of the city. A few vendors at the parking area. Restrooms at the road entrance. Can get busy. Tourists from 4 continents seen when I was there.
very easy to find the way to this small hill, not difficult to climb, its just a walking path... but still a cool view
Great view of Antigua. A very touristy place but is a great view with just a small hike to the mountain. Wear comfy shoes if doing the walk. Is a good place to bring your dog just be aware just like everywhere else, there is a lot of stray dogs here.
Excellent Antigua Guatemala view! Good atmosphere with a couple Mayan street stores!
Excellent view of Antigua and Pacay! Highly recommend. Just follow the walking path as shown in Google Maps to reach the peak. Trail is mostly sidewalks and concrete footpaths. Lots of runners and dog walkers. Sellers at the peak with typical Guatemalan fare snacks and water.
It's a good place for taking a quiet and peaceful walk. There's a lot of tourists here so I would say it's very touristy. The group from USA, France etc. There's little girl selling street souvenir and the tourists just want them to take photos with them. It's a bit sad that they use the local little girls here and then just leave her aside after taking a photo with her. The view is good that you can see the volcano.
Must do in Antigua! It is 40 min away from the main city center and easily accessible by by walking. The way includes many stairs and is not recommended for wheelchairs. However, the place is not good in shape and the city does not seem to care about it a lot. Nonetheless, the view is amazing and worth going!
Easy hike to the top and felt rather safe in the day as it's busy and pretty scenic. The view up top is beautiful and the place is great to hang out so I suggest bringing a lunch a d having a picnic!
Quite a few steep steps up to the cross but it's well worth it with the views. Also, I was afraid at first because I read up that this hill is known for muggings and I was going up alone. I met a European couple right before heading up there and they told me it was completely safe and there were some hikers they came across there. I ended up feeling completely safe up there and had no issues.
I'm so glad my friend and I took the trek up to the cross to see this amazing view! We went up on a day of a kite festival, so the hillside was filled with families flying kites and having picnics. It was great. As you can see it was a cloudy day but that didn't take away from the view. I really enjoyed the walk up too. It wasn't too strenuous and it was a path through trees.
Visited here in the afternoon to enjoy the view and take in the scenery. Which is great! Police patrolling throughout the park in the afternoon but beware if you’re to go here on your own for sunrise. Having a dude wave a machete in my face wasn’t exactly what I hoped for when going up there for sunrise lol. Police start to patrol the park at 7-7:30am and joggers will be seen throughout from that time onwards so it’s cool to be in the park at this time. If you’re planning to go before this then go with a group or just pack a big machete too. Sad to have this experience in Guat but it is what it is! Just beware of this if you’re heading up early! Stay safe and travel light always.
Great place to visit. I've been there many times with my family and enjoy the little, yet rich in information, museums they have. Very close to central park Antigua. Very centric.
