The mythology tour given by Danny was very interesting and informative. Danny was a great guide.
We had a really great food tour with Christina. About three and a half hours with lots of stops for different and delicious food. Fantastic!
I did the food tour this morning with Andreas. We started around 10am and finished around 2pm it was a foot historical tour and food tour mixed into one. Andreas knowledge of the food and the city was perfect we all learnt so much and visited 7 different places all with more food than was needed but welcomed. We tried local food and more importantly all Greek products like honey, oli and wine. The tour was perfectly timed and we were all stuffed by the end of it, this is truly the hallmark of a good food tour when you leave totally full. My favorite time was in the city market.
This review is for the Delicious Athens Food Tour. We had a fantastic time with this tour company. And we were glad that we did this tour early so we had time to go back and eat more of some of the foods we tasted. Our guide, Elizabeth, was personable and really sincere. She walked us through the street of Athens and introduced us to all of the specialties of the city and learned not only about the food, but also the history of the food, its origins as well as tidbits about the city, greek culture and Greek people. We tasted: - greek coffee - koulori (greek sesame ring) - specialty gourmet food store items: feta, olive oils, tapenade and greek wine and honey. - souvlaki - mastiha - baklava - bougatsa - greek maze (stewed lamb, beat moussaka I've ever had, tzatziki and mashed fava bean) We also walked through the seafood and meat market as well as different neighborhoods in Athens including Plaka, Syntagma and Monastiraki neighborhoods. You will not regret spending the money for this tour.
My wife and I did the Athens Food Tour on 13 November 2017. Our guide Christina did an amazing job! We had a wonderful time sampling the different foods and learning the history behind the food, the cooking and the city itself. Both this tour and Christina are perfect! We highly recommend taking this tour to learn more about Greek cuisine and Athens all while enjoying awesome foods! Overall the tour lasted about 4 hours and covered 2.5 miles. The other reviews are accurate in that there are so many foods to try you will be very satisfied by the end of the tour.
