An Arch adjacent to the temple of Zeus. Definitely worth a quick visit (like 5mins) on the way to other attractions.

Impressive Hadrian's Arch was constructed in 131 AD by the Roman Emperor Hadrian as part of a wall separating the old and new cities of Athens. On the side of the arch facing the Acropolis is the inscription, "This is Athens, the former city of Theseus" while the other side reads, "This is the city of Hadrian and not of Theseus". The 18 meters (59ft) gate was made of marble from nearby Mount Pentelikon and decorated in the Corinthian order .

Nice arch. Temple is fenced but the greens are oawesime. Great meeting point for the start of all tours. All the major touristic points surround it.

Beautiful historical monument created by the Roman emperor at the centre of Athens. Popular tourist attraction, pretty nice spot for memorial photos.

The Arch of Hadrian is a free site situated between the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Acropolis and easily accessed from the Acropolis metro station within a 5 minute walk down the adjacent pedestrian street. The arch itself is impressive and dedicated to the Roman Emperor Hadrian. Definitely worth a look if your in the area.

A Nice monument and worth looking at if it is on the way to your destination, but not really any real need to go out of your way to see. It is a free site to visit which is very appealing

After the construction of the temple of Zeus the Athenians in the year 131AD in honour of Emperor Hadrian built an arch on the north west perimeter of the temple. The monument is 18m tallans 13m wide, while the arch, built of Pentilic marble bears two inscriptions on the architrave over the arch. One inscription, facing the Acropolis and the old town (west)says "This is Athens the city of Theseus" the other inscription facing the sanctuary and an extension if Athens constructed by Hadrian (facing east) says Thus is city of Hadrian, not Theseus".

A free place to see with a view of the backside of the Acropolis and Temple of Zeus. Watch out for the pan handlers. But a fun place
