The Church of the Holy Apostles, also known as Holy Apostles of Solaki (Greek: Άγιοι Απόστολοι Σολάκη), is located in the Ancient Agora of Athens, Greece, next to the Stoa of Attalos, and can be dated to around the late 10th century.
"Solakis" may be the family name of those who sponsored a renovation of the church in the Ottoman Period, or from "Solaki" for the densely populated area around the church in the 19th century.
Beautiful little church with gorgeous frescoes in various states of repair and disrepair. Absolutely quiet and peaceful. A calm within the storm of the city.

We have visited the location before and know it's worth visiting the interior. Now it was closed without any information about why and when visiting the site again. It was on a Monday, 28th of august 2017 day time. The church is part of a large archeological site for which you have to pay. So...
