Under the Acropolis, the Herod Atticus Theater is a circular theater built by the Romans. After the renovation of the theater, this second century AD looks very complete and still serves as a venue for performance. Overlooking the theater on the Acropolis Trail and the beautiful Nice colonnade behind the theater, it becomes a popular photo attraction.The Odeon of Herodes Atticus is a magnificent attraction that has been around for 2000 years as a preserved ancient Roman theater. This is a stunning sight to see from Acropolis, the theater itself used for musical performances not only for ancient shows but also for contemporary ones. You can not miss this place. The original seat left only traces, but in the original style of the new building came in handy for outdoor concerts and movies. The rest of the monument is magnificent and impressive. A semicircular musical theater, marveling from its height, does indeed amaze its construction. If there is a concert there at night, you should feel something different.

The more intact and larger amphitheatre in the grounds of the acropolis. Stunning and still used for the very occasional performance. Genuinly one of the best places in a city with many spectacular sites 2500 years old and still used for its original pupose, Wow

Glorious! If you get a chance to see a play or get tickets for a concert here, don’t pass it. Tickets can usually be bought on site or online. We bought our tickets from “Public” the store.

Impressive ancient open air theatre at the hill of Acropolis of Athens. Popular tourist attraction, with many visitors all seasons of the year. Perfomances and concerts from many famous artists are organized from to time. Nice spot for taking photos.

Breathtaking theatre. It is an ancient theatre that it has the same rocks 2000+ years. A night visit even outside area it magnificent. Also the view of the Acropolis and Lecabetus is super! A nice place to see a concert or just for passing by on a walk.

Beautiful ancient theatre. In excellent condition. Climb to the top to have an amazing view of the city and the entire Odeon. Plan at least 1hr for your visit.

This is the most beautiful Greek theatre I've ever seen. There are lots of these amphitheatres dotted around the western world. But this is the most beautiful and well preserved of them all

An old Greek theater with most of the seats in excellent condition. Looking at this from above gives a great view and almost transportates you back in time as if you were waiting for a show to start.

I know it’s technically Roman (or Eastern Roman) but I would consider this a must see. We were able to catch a rehearsal for opera, try around 7-8 PM when we did, the acoustics are incredible and much remains or was restored from the original Odeon. We went by to see it twice already in one day

Absolutely fantastic amphitheater of antiquity still in use today. Don't miss the gorgeous views of it as your headed up to the Parthenon, and be sure and catch a show if your able = Legendary !!!!!
