What is there not to like about Aotea square. I can sit there for hours and enjoy the buzz. I look at people and notice the smiles on their faces. It makes my smile even broader. There is practically always something going on there. Love the Square.

I'm still trying to figure out how to actually say it. Either way, I like it a lot. A very clean area, with a contemporary aesthetic. Lots of things to do, there's usually something happening in the center. All sorts of great coffee nearby! I wish there were a place like this in my city. Just be mindful at night, sometimes there are crazy homeless people wandering about. They're entertaining but only a bit.

Aotea square is lovely when it’s summer! They’ll install nice tables, chairs and make a beautiful lounge out of it. I love it. The restaurants on Aotea square aren’t excellent so I would just suggest to get take away and soak up some sun.

Could use a few more boulevard cafes, trees, jugglers and musicians. But still a rather nice inner city open space connecting the vintage aspirations of the old Town Hall with the suave cement slab of the Aotea Event Venue. Recommended.

Visited while the Banksy exhibition was on close by and there was a free outdoor concert going on, was a lovely place to stop for a rest and relax in the city. Was also a free talk on bee keeping earlier in the day and a small demonstration too the day before, would be an interesting place to visit regularly if living locally I'd imagine.

Great atmosphere in Aotea Square with the ice skating ring seeing families enjoying themselves. I went to Aotea theatre to see Dancing with Mozart. Excellent show. I was a bit stunned at how rude some of the older female patrons were. The staff were fabulous. Just a reminder when buying tickets to shows buy from Ticketmaster and not some other doggy place selling tickets. Two ladies were "ripped off" when they bought there tickets from somewhere else and paid double the price.

Such a great place for the area We recently attended free events to watch comedians and also went to the Auckland writers festival here. The venue is fantastic and worth buying a ticket for, everyone gets a decent view and they put a screen up too. Drinks are really expensive!

Not much to see here. Not the cleanest square in town. Small and surrounded by big buildings. There is a skating rink in a building on the square. The surrounding buildings have a theatre, a cinema and other public venues.

This is a great place to do streets, architectures, buildings, and venue photography. The photos on this review are mainly processed into High Dynamic Range. HDR is required to achieve details within dark and light areas of photograph. Use Adobe Camera Raw and Luminar to post process your raw files..

This square is not always free - it has events, show, ice-skating rink, and so on. The multipurpose space attracts trendy crowds. Always lively day and night.
