Beautiful beach facing Rangitoto Island. Easily accessible from different roads along the beach. No path along the beach so using a pram or stroller is difficult but very children friendly with beautiful golden sand for building a castle. Swallow water for paddling and very little waves.

A beautiful view out to Rangitoto. There are some trees that line the beach and make some shade for those who don't want direct sun. The beach has a lot of debris on it naturally. It is very shallow and safe for kids. Not the best if you want to jump in for a swim.

One of the prettiest suburbs in Auckland. This beach is just the best for children to gain confidence in the sea. At low tide it's very shallow so the little ones can run for miles splashing about and when tide is full it's blue and beautiful. Quite a good spot for kite surfing too when the wind is up. Once you've had a swim head up to the top of north head for some box sliding and then on to White's dairy for the biggest and best ice creams around.
