Austin is the capital city of the U.S. state of Texas, as well as the seat and largest city of Travis County, with portions extending into Hays and Williamson counties. Incorporated on December 27, 1839, it is the 11th-most populous city in the United States, the fourth-most-populous city in Texas, the second-most-populous state capital city after Phoenix, Arizona, and the most populous state capital that is not also the most populous city in its state. It has been one of the fastest growing large cities in the United States since 2010. The Greater Austin and Greater San Antonio areas are separated from each other by approximately 80 miles (129 km) along Interstate 35. It is anticipated that both regions may form a new metroplex similar to Dallas and Fort Worth. Austin is the southernmost state capital in the contiguous United States and is considered a "Beta −" global city as categorized by the Globalization and World Cities Research Network.
As of the 2020 census, Austin had a population of 961,855, up from 790,491 at the 2010 census. The city is the cultural and economic center of the Austin–Round Rock metropolitan statistical area, which had an estimated population of 2,295,303 as of July 1, 2020, roughly 84% increase from the year 2000. Located in Central Texas within the greater Texas Hill Country, it is home to numerous lakes, rivers, and waterways, including Lady Bird Lake and Lake Travis on the Colorado River, Barton Springs, McKinney Falls, and Lake Walter E. Long.

Had a really good time the tour guide was very funny and adorable. They did a great job sharing little personal stories about each item that they show you the show at the end was fun not overly weird there are some posts that say that this place is not right if you are religious or if you have small children. Not exactly sure because I am none of those couldn't really see where the problem was unless you have very very small children because they do have wax museum creatures that could be scary for very very small children

The Museum of the Weird is not just a collection of weird things. It is the preservation of a genre of American folk lore. The sideshow has been replaced with photoshop in modern culture. MoW brings us back to a simpler time. It's a great place to let your guard down and be a kid again. You don't have to believe when you go back to work, but it's fun to believe when you're there.

This is a really awesome museum they have some really unusual stuff kids absolutely loved it I had a great time, The tour was a little bit longer than we expected about 45 minutes to an hour but other than that I had no complaints had some really interesting and amazingly cool stuff, The lady behind the counter was very attractive and didn't mind helping me out at all. I have a whole group of friends or just freaks and geeks who would absolutely love this I will be recommending this place to them. Make sure to use the bathroom or eat some food before you take this to work as like I said it is about 45 minutes but it is absolutely worth it.

It's really small, but it was fun. Anyway, they said they had a bigfoot frozen in ice in the back but it was obviously fake, my dad had been searching for it ever since he saw the real exhibit when it first toured back in the 60's. A bit of a disappointment. They absolutely did not allow you to film it or take pictures. So that's obviously a red flag.

This museum is small but lots of fun. The tour and show were very entertaining. There are really interesting artifacts and stories.

The best museum EVER, It is worth every single penny! I went there just because it seemed cool and WOW I was blown away! The first part is cool with all the little weird creatures and animals, and the farther you get back the weirder and weirder it gets but the End which I won't spoil it for you is so cool and you have to question if it is real or not! I will definitely go back for sure!

The price would have been worth it if there was more to see. The sideshow was frightening in a way that was not entertaining. They have a crazy person performing in front of a small group in a very small room. The museum is weird. The gift store is just as cool as the exhibits. Love archie mcphee stuff
