The Hippodrome Theatre is a theater in Baltimore, Maryland.
Built in 1914 for impresarios Marion Scott Pearce and Scheck, the 2300-seat theater was the foremost vaudeville house in Baltimore, as well as a movie theater. When the movie palace opened, it was the largest theatre in the United States south of Philadelphia. The Hippodrome was designed by Thomas W. Lamb, one of the foremost theater architects of his time. Lamb gave the theater an unusually strong presence on Eutaw Street through the use of brick and terra cotta on a massive façade. The Hippodrome was renovated in 2004 for use as a performing arts theater, and is part of the France-Merrick Performing Arts Center.

Went to see Get On Your Feet with friends. My first time at the Baltimore Hippodrome, and I was pleasantly surprised. We parked at the adjacent parking garage (Pratt Street) and paid $10 for event parking. Took the elevator down and walked right into theater about 1/2 hour before show time. Crowded but quick seating...really no wait, and plenty of helpful, smiling faces, so you never feel lost. Beautiful old theater and great view from balcony. When the show was over, no hassles...easy elevator and no line leaving garage. Highly recommended venue.

The venue was great. There drinks at intermission were reasonably priced. We came for a ballet that was not really well attended, but overall the theater experience was good. Helpful staff/volunteers. We never lacked for service. It was clean and such a beautiful theater. The decor was very reminescent of a New York theater. A hidden gem.

Had a great time seeing Get On Your Feet with my daughter at the Hippodrome. I parked at the garage attached and never had to go out in the rain. Took the elevator right into the lobby. I thought my seats were great for the price I paid. My only complaint would be the outrageous prices for drinks and snacks. Just make sure you are full and hydrated before going.

A classic ornate treasure of a building /facility with lots of nearby parking that is reasonably priced (in the building lot is usually around $10). Take a stroll down the block to see Edgar Allen Poe's grave. The staff here have always been smiling and helpful, seats are reasonably comfortable with decent leg room (at least the seats I have tried so far). In addition, I had one event where our seats had an unplanned obstructed view due to the stage layout, and the manager was very generous and helpful in assisting us. Great Venue!

We saw School of Rock this time and my beautiful wife and I attended kid free this night. I also have her to blame for the amazing seats she exchanged this time and now I'm ruined! The show was very good and I thoroughly enjoyed the show. Surprisingly the Hippodrome is very easy to get to and there are plenty of restaurants to go to right before the show. I definitely advise having reservations
