Wat Prayurawongsawat Worawihan, known in short as Wat Prayun is a 19th century Buddhist temple complex, located near the Memorial Bridge (Thonburi side) in Bangkok, Thailand.
The temple was built during the reign of King Rama III of the Thai Rattanakosin Kingdom. He was the king of Siam from 1824–1851. Rama III was the elder brother of Mongkut who succeeded him as King Rama IV in 1851. Rama IV became famous beyond Thailand, after being portrayed in The King and I film and stage productions.

Beautiful temple. A lesser-known, hidden gem of Bangkok.

There is the night temple fair here tonight until tomorrow to celebrate the temple’s 190th anniversary. Lots of fun and festive activities, local snacks, food stalls and cultural performances. It could be interesting for both locals and tourists.

A good and worthy visit, a lot to see starting with a lovely garden with a pond where you can see turtles and buy some papaya to feed them ;) The temples looks great even if one is under maintenance. You can esplore the pagoda which was awarded by Unesco. Just dont miss out if you have time :)

Amazing temple with few Western tourists and many unique monuments to see. Smart tourists find this place; thankfully, most tourists are not smart enough! Many English descriptions of the history and objects around the temple. Tons of turtles and fish. Very chill place.

really nice temple complex, the first built in the Rattanakosin period. huge white stupa is centerpiece and you can go inside and see internal structure with buddha images all around. Very peaceful although it is a major temple so there are often events happening

Our awesome tour guide recommended this spot for kids friendly activities and pagoda tour. We were not disappointed, place was beautiful and peaceful. Kids had a great time feeding fish and turtles. Adults had wow time to soak in the architectural and history.

I was going at night. Some people with their local guide and they please me to hear about the explanation. So beautiful but the wat may need more care about the cleaness.
