Beijing zoo is famous for it's pandas. I was very excited to see this zoo. I wanted to see pandas but this zoo has alot more attractions elephant house is very exciting and lion dungeon. I saw many animals here. The zoo is very big. You need to follow the map. It closes at 5 so you need to get there earlier. So that you can see the most. There is a big aquarium. I wasn't able to go inside as it closes at 5. There are photography spots outside every animal center. Reptiles and mammals have different zones. The zoo has no other special amenity . But it's nice place. It has a ticket.

Let's be honest, the reason you're going to this zoo is the pandas. And they're great. Definitely go early to see when they have food and might be up moving around and eating. I went at 10:30-11 am or so and several pandas were up and about and eating. Other than that, this isn't really a high-level zoo. Many of the exhibits are older and aren't up to the expectations that many who have been to big-city zoos in other countries will have. When I was there in November hardly any animals in their exhibits, and the zoo generally felt pretty empty. Worth visiting for the pandas, but I wouldn't spend too much more time there.

Went during the off season. (Jan 14 2018) Crowds were almost non existent. This zoo has its own metro station and is very easy to get to. Rhinos, tigers and some other African animals were not on display. You'll still be able to see the pandas, monkeys and elephants.

Cheap price to see pandas. We entered through the south side gate directly next to panda house. We viewed s few other exhibits. Some animals seemed fine (some pandas and zebras and monkeys). Some animals seemed unhappy (giraffe and a few kangaroos). We really enjoyed the ducks and waterfowl. Some Asian guests continually fed animals and a few were banging on the panda and kangaroo glass walls. Towards us, everyone was very friendly. Zoo has English maps also.

This zoo is like China after 1949, grey, lifeless, non-creativity. It has many many different types of animals, maybe one of the top Zoo which has most types of animals. It is just boring. Grey building, lazy animals, every places are same. If this is the only zoo I have ever been, it would be 5 starts for sure. Unfortunately, after I grow up, I have been to many zoos, many little zoos outside China. These zoos has themes, present animals in the way they live, not in a cage like the Beijing Zoo. I am totally not an "animal lover activities", but I'd like to see animals live in their comfortable environment in a zoo, that makes me happy too.

The main reason I gave this place a 2 star rating is because of how the animals are kept. If you love animal's and seeing them looking down makes you sad trust me this is not for you. I do understand why people are happy and that's because they can see the different types of animals. I was happy to get to see the giant panda's but as I walked around the park I began to cry and this was because of how the animals are kept. The kangaroo had no hop left they dragged their feet to get food and some of them even ate their own poop. I stood looking through the glass and just cried and wanted to leave but I had to see the elephants for me that was important. I got to the the place where they kept them, I was broken to see how small the cage is and how they have to life. The other cage was huge but it was empty and they put them in the smaller cages. It was so hurtful but I was amazed how the mother didn't show her baby she was tired and kept playing along with her even though she at times just needed to stop.. The zoo advertisers alot of animals but all of them are not there. They had no hippos, lions, polar bears and flamingos to mention some. Alot were missing and that's a fact but they don't tell you this. The panda's are well kept and very beautiful but like I said if you are an animal lover you will be very said to see the conditions in which they are kept.

Super interesting...I usually don't support Zoo's but my son convinced me and it was an unusual experience.... Sometimes you need to do what you need to do and educate people about it. Get your hands dirty to be able to talk about it...

When i first come i expect nothing, my main reason come here was only to see Pandas! Because that was my third times go to China but i havent seen any Pandas, so i decided to come here. It was so cheap only ï¿¥14!!! Hahaha I was there on winter and there are not much visitor, it was good experience anyway. Its quite clean and signs are written in English and Chinese, so we still can understand even if we cant read Chinese. I love this place!

Panda exhibit is excellent. Go around feeding time, which was about 3 p.m. on a Sunday afternoon. They were very active. There's other animals to see too. Unfortunately, the elephant enclosure really needs an upgrade, it's far too small for the number of elephants there.

The only exhibit we visited were the Panda’s. The Beijing Zoo has 5 or 6 and they were wonderful to watch. For us, well worth the stop.

Beijing zoo is easily reached by subway. Especially to see Panda must pay entrance fee again. Panda is a typical animal of China. Panda area is quite wide, divided into some space that is limited by glass. We can see Panda activity.

Lovely zoo. Many of the enclosures are old but you can see the zoo is trying its best in a culture that is developing conversation to current western standards. Loved the panda exhibit! You gota pay extra for it though.

Loved it. Animals looked well taken care of. A fairly large zoo. Handicapped friendly. Lots of food stands.

Pandas are treated amazingly but don’t go see the big cats (lions/tigers/panthers) because it’s incredibly depressing. 10/10 for having really good fries though.
Katrina AntipasJun 21, 2018
Good place to bring the kids and the entrance fee is around 15cny. It is also a good place to have picnic and watch the sun set. There were 3 pandas caged separately in glass when we visited. Park closes at 5pm.

Was super excited to see the pandas but they were all sleeping. May be I visited the place during wrong hours. Few birds were very beautiful.
