Jingshan Park is an imperial park covering 23 hectares (57 acres) immediately north of the Forbidden City in the Imperial City area of Beijing, China. The focal point is the artificial hill Jingshan (景山), literally "Prospect Hill". Formerly a private imperial garden attached to the grounds of the Forbidden City, the grounds were opened to the public in 1928. The park was formally established in 1949. It is listed as a Key State Park and is administratively part of Xicheng District in downtown Beijing.
Jingshan's history dates to the Liao and Jin dynasties, almost a thousand years ago. The 45.7-meter (150 ft) high artificial hill was constructed in the Yongle era of the Ming dynasty entirely from the soil excavated in forming the moats of the Imperial Palace and nearby canals. All of this material was moved by manual labor and animal power. Jingshan consists of five individual peaks, and on the top of each peak there lies an elaborate pavilion. These pavilions were used by officials for gathering and leisure purposes. These five peaks also draw the approximate historical axis of central Beijing.

Peace park that's usually not too crowded. Recommend renting a peddle or motor boat (depending on how much time you have) and do a loop around the pagoda.

Beautiful and peaceful park. A nice break from the city. Plenty of public toilets, just bring your own paper.

Amazing, you can feel the history before 200+ years, if you enter here. And you can touch, and see deeply, on your own, the history of old Beijing, old China. Important is, you can real to feel this feeling, it's different from just see the photo or text.

Really pretty park! Definitely has some of the most beautiful views you'll see in a Beijing park. The white tower costs extra to be admitted to, and, in my opinion, you don't really need to bother with it. The park is plenty enjoyable without the extra.

We enjoyed a nice walk around watching the locals dancing. Also visited the double sided 9 Dragon Wall...impressive.

Nice park, though I expected more from it. I was disappointed that you have to pay twice an entrance fee to get to the main attraction. Nonetheless I was very much attracted by the Nine Dragons Screen

Google says it's opened from 6.3am to 9am, which is not correct : it's 9pm ! This park is awesome : little heaven of peace in that huge city. It's not free (10 for 1 global entrance, 10 more for the yong'an temple)
