The Orto Botanico di Bergamo "Lorenzo Rota" (1,357 m²) is a botanical garden located at the top of a long stairway from Scaletta di Colle Aperto, Bergamo, Lombardy, Italy. It is open daily during the warmer months.
The garden was established in 1972, and named in honor of physician and botanist Lorenzo Rota. It was at first predominantly an alpine garden, but after 1989 began collaboration with the Museum of Natural Sciences and broadened its collection. In 1993, the garden became an integral part of the museum.
The best things in life are free or so they say. This was far from the best botanical garden I have ever seen but it was at least free. If you're in the area, go for a quick look.

Its free and self guided. I enjoyed it. I like the collection of edibles. Worth the visit!

Un posto poco conosciuto ma consiglio di farci un giro; trovate una grande varieta di piante in un'ambientazione piccola ma ben tenuta... splendida la vista su Città Alta...ingresso gratuito. This Botanical Garden is a place little known but suggest a ride ; find a large variety of plants in a setting small but well kept ... beautiful view of the Upper Town ... free admission!

An early spring visit, not lush but budding and throwing off the winter. Very nice walk on a sunny spring afternoon.

A silent place to take a rest with beautiful views, especially in spring when everything is blooming :-)

Very quaint garden with great views. Peaceful. Relaxing walk around the garden paths. It is small but worth the visit for the views alone of mountains surrounding Bergamo.
