The Fløibanen is a funicular railway in the Norwegian city of Bergen. It connects the city centre with the mountain of Fløyen, with its mountain walks and magnificent views of the city. It is one of Bergen's major tourist attractions and one of Norway's most visited attractions. The line is 844 m (2,769 ft) long, covers a height difference of 302 m (991 ft), and carries over 1 million passengers a year. The line is owned by Fløibanen SA, a company with a number of shareholders, the biggest being the municipality of Bergen.

Definitely worth a trip up the mountain to see the view at the top. I went twice during the week I was in Bergen. There are plenty of walks to do up the top but it was covered in snow/ice so I didn't get very far before chickening out. The second time we walked back down to the city which took about 45 min - a very nice walk downhill (apart from an initial short uphill to get on the track).
You get a lovely view of the area and the city from up here and its even more beautiful during low sunlight. the view of the valley from up here looks brilliant and the weather is windy and cool. the place is even more spectacular when you see it from the top. A very touristy place so is always a bit over crowded compared to other locations here a must visit here.
Awesome view. We took the tram up and walked down. It was a pretty good work out. My knees were like Jell-O towards the bottom. We saw some free roaming goats on the way down and some wild raspberries and cloudberries. I wouldn't recommend hiking up unless you are in tip top shape.
Very nice attraction to do. Fenicular is was and goes to the top of the mountain where the view is very nice. A little disappointed by the choice of the food there (no soup).
Quick efficient about £9.50 return. No wait but low cloud & rain so no views at all from the viewing area. They have free WiFi at the top & toilets.
A Bit of a Nightmare - probably would have been nice but it was a ridiculous line with crazy smelly tourists and we were packed in the tram like cattle. It was so bad that we refused to take it back down so we walked. I am not claustrophobic but I panicked a little. The walk up the trail would have been nicer for me.
Definitely worth a trip. Excellent views of Bergen and the park is worth walking down as well.
Order your ticket online to skip the line. Great place and a lot of activities offered for families at the top.
