It was so much better than I expected. So much detail and artistry. Very cool landmark. Everything in Germany just has so much history that I wanted to visit everything, however I would recommend visiting this at least once if you're here. It was very crowded, especially during the summer. I heard its very beautiful during the night so go see it!
It is a very interesting place to go. It can be very busy during the day making the photos difficult to look great. I would recommend to go in summer Earle morning before 7am to make great day time photo and after 10pm to get great night shot. You will feel the history that this place went through when you stand in front of it. In the evening you .ca rent fancy cycling cars from 2 to 20 people where you can ride and share a beer together.
It's the first thing many people think of when they think about Berlin. That alone makes it's worth a visit. The gate itself is quite beautiful and the are where it stands is great as well. You have a busy square with lots of great restaurant to one side and a lovely park to the other.
Absolutely the most majestic landmark to see in Berlin. Such an incredible amount of history has occurred in one spot over quite literally half a millennium. Napoleon, Hitler, Soviet installation of the Berlin wall, JFK's famous speeches for democracy. The list goes on for the depth of history from good and bad people in one single location.
Looks absolutely outstanding in person. It's one of the key landmarks of Berlin and is definitely worth a visit. Part of the historic West-East German border from the Cold War. A nice walk down from Alexanderplatz and is in a convenient location to visit other landmarks such as the Victory Column, Checkpoint Charlie and the 'new' Berlin centre. Easily accessed by U Bahn and bus. Some great photo opportunities here.
It's an iconic piece of architecture. It is worth a visit and it is a primary tourist stop. Read your history before you go, so you can appreciate everything. The only thing I don't like about it is the lack of creativity in selecting the theme. It also wasn't nice to put all that work into making carvings in the walk ways because it is a bad angle to view and appreciate.
5 stars for this truly beautiful landmark. The Brandenburg gate is essentially one of the greatest places to visit in the world! I am so lucky to have been given the opportunity to visit this place. GREAT little shops like Starbucks and Dunkin' donuts to buy snacks and many places to sit. The division of east and west from the cold war era is also clearly viewed from the gate
The Gate is quite interesting to me. I didn't search any information about Brandenburg Gate before I went there. However, the Gate made me curious. There are many stories with the gate as Victory and Peace or Unity. You can visit some other famous places with Brandenburg Gate. There are many quite interesting places to visit and learn German history.
Iconic piece of Berlin's history. Looks and feels larger than life. Expect to see a show or a protest (or both) right next to it almost any day of the week. Best time to visit is early in the morning - you'll get better shots with the sun behind your back and its not so crowded.
Definitely a place to visit or a must on your bucket list! Stunningly beautiful and inspirational place. Lots of embassies to visit and a decent amount of places to eat or drink. Just make sure you visit!
Iconic and breathtaking monument, closest to Brandenberger Tor station. On weekends there are usually peaceful events under way here, and train services to the station were changed because the train wouldn't stop here. Listen for announcements over the train system (in German). Road was closed as well.
The Brandenburg bridge is a really nice place to visit. It's one of the only things that worth to see. In front of it you can see the Tiergarten which is really huge and also it has the Berlin Zoo inside it. Quite place to sit and relax for a few hours and do not here even a single sound of cars or crowded city. When you visit Berlin go here first.
The Brandenburg gate is one of the best places that you have to see in Berlin. I would highly recommend going there at midnight time if you want to see this place in a different view or different way to how it is during the day. There is security here all the time (In terms of safety at night). Or you can come here during the day and enjoy place with lots of people all around the world, it’s really busy during the day.
Well, it's a piece of history. Its an impressive piece of architecture with a lot of history. The massive structure has a way of making you feel small, in more than one way. So many little shops and places to visit close by. Was lucky enough to catch the world cup games here. There's a large park nearby and other buildings/locations to explore.
The Brandenburg gate was very quiet at when I went at 1 am with it being just me and a couple of other people. This meant it was very calm and peaceful and I would highly recommend going there at this time if you want to see the gate in a different way to how it is during the day. In terms of safety at night , there was security the entire time I was there so it was very safe
The Brandenburg gate is full of history. It was interesting to learn about how it is the only standing remnant of that area of the city and survived hundreds of years. When Napoleon invaded, he stole the statue on top and it was returned a time later. It is a great picture stop, and many tours will stop there anyway.
Fantastic view, it is truly a beautiful sight to be seen while in Berlin. Fantastic photo opportunity myself and my girlfriend made the most of it anyway. I would highly recommended coming to see this if you are visiting Berlin
Was very nice being there. One of the greatest gates worldwide with such a historical milestone. Certainly was a immersive and unique experience to see it after all you hear, read and study about it and surrounding places. Place is almost always busy. Loved it!
The Brandenburg Gate is one of the most famous sightseeing objects in Germany. I just can say that it is pretty impressive to see the dimensions of that huge gate. Great stop for doing an unforgettable picture of your Germany trip. If you have time, come back after the sunset to see the Brandenburg Gate illuminated.
The top place and also the most visited in Berlin. A beautiful gate with great history. Really well organized place and very clean. It's always crowded but I don't think it could be any different. Of course it's highly recommended to visit it and have some great photos. Don't forget to visit it also by night. It's beautifully lighted.
If you are in Berlin you have to come here! There is so much history here, plus it is beautiful and free! Additionally the Bundestag is pretty much right next door and so you can stroll on over and see that as well. Further you can also see the beautiful angel pillar behind the Brandenburger Tor. This really is just fascinating and holds something special!
