This is the longest remaining part of the Berlin Wall, and you can walk along the 1300 meter it covers. Once a sign of repression, this segment of the wall now has become an art exhibition for graffiti. Some of the drawings are amazing and I enjoyed looking at every segment as I walked. I wish there was more information available about the artists though. It's easy to get here by the underground but there really isn't much to do here besides looking at the wall. It isn't a particularly interesting area of Berlin, except for the large Mercedes showroom on the other side which I enjoyed. All in all, definitely worth a visit if you are in Berlin and interested in the history of the wall.

You can’t leave Berlin without seen it! Its a shame to see part of the artworks in the wall to be vandalized by tags and so. But luckily its a small part, beside that it was a wonderful experience to see and walk! Its 1,5 km long so be ready to take a nice stroll, also theres a lot of people so be patience and respect the others before taking a picture. Beware that there’s a group of kinds asking for money for a supposedly charity for the blind/deaf/etc... its false! They just want to take your money!

Very nice artwork one the wall that used to divide Berlin. It's a pretty long walk to see it all so if you're going make sure you figure out how to get all the way back to the beginning or just walk it twice and enjoy it more!

Definitely worth a stroll. The artwork on the pieces of the Berlin wall are fantastic and compelling. It was much longer than I anticipated, but I enjoyed going along the whole thing. We went at night, which was cool, but I think it would be equally compelling anytime.

The East Side Gallery is one of the last bits of Berlin Wall that is still intact. 1300 metres to be exact. This 1300 meter piece of wall has been used as object for graffiti art. While one side of the wall features famous artwork, the other side features some information about the Berlin Wall and more. The neighbourhood around the wall isn't that interesting but the wall itself should be interesting enough. I walked next to the wall and was mostly focused on the artwork, some of it very interesting and some of it less interesting. Be aware that taking a picture of a bit of wall might be a bit difficult, as it's usually somewhat crowded. The East side gallery is easy to reach. I was able to walk from one to the other metro station via the East Side Gallery.

Very interesting to see, specially if you are into art and graffiti. It's the longest lasting piece remaining of the wall of Berlin, approximately 1.3 KM long. Cafes and bars can be found around, and you can sit by the river and enjoy the view, specially when the weather is nice. I just wished there was more information about the area and that particular part of the wall there (in English of course).

Exciting open air exposition of original street art on a 5km long remain of the Berlin Wall. Heart touching art messages regrading freedom, peace and life value. Authentic piece from one of the darkest periods of modern history. Nobody remains indifferent to the voices of the authors, victims and the history itself

When you travel in Berlin, you have to visit East Side Gallery. The arts on the wall are great and amazing. Some of arts give inspiration. Between the walls, you can see so beautiful Fluss River. Therefore, you should take time to relax near the river, not only watch East Side Gallery. I am sad because some people drew graffiti or sentences. They make the awesome arts mess up. You can fine the picture which I explain. There is rubbish on an art. This situation shows us cultural awareness of citizens. I hope some people are inhabited to do bad things.

The wall is a part of history and a piece of art in Berlin. Well located, the East Side Gallery is one of the most important place in Berlin. You need to see it. The metro is at 5 minutes and you can walk on the shore of the spree

who is interested in art/graffiti is definitely having a nice time here. when the weather is nice it is possible to relax on the shoreline of the river Spree or to get some drinks from several stores there. unfortunately gentrification even reaches this monument, so parts were removed in order to have provide gateway for newly built houses. of course having a look at this images is for free...

Cool area, cool atmosphere. Be ready to spend time there and enjoy the amazing street art works. You will enjoy some of the most famous murals in Berlin. This is a long part of the wall and you can find the double wall along the walking. Take in consideration it will be full of tourists, so it’s better to go early morning.

When in Berlin, this is a must visit! It will take approximately 40 minutes to have seen all the walls. If you do not want to walk that far you can also hire a bike to cycle past these paintings (but then you should avoid the peak hours). It was clear which wall/painting was the most popular among people. Some paintings were beginning to fade or the wall is just damaged. It would be nice to include some background information for people to read and understand the art.

One of the two must-visit historic places in Berlin, the other being Checkpoint Charlie. The remnant of Berlin Wall is now a street art gallery free for everyone to ponder at. The paintings are mostly contemplative and you can gather much more from each piece if you think about them deeply for a while. Expect to see lots of tourists taking selfies and asking for others' help for photos. Be careful not to step too far back to the road when you're searching for the best angle, since cars are parked there as well.

Being a tourist in Berlin sounds like it revolves around this wall and for a reason. Have a wonder to see the wall up close and personal, but then head to Checkpoint Charlie for the stories of those who managed to pass the wall... As much as the stories of the 100 people who died running for freedom.

It's one of the coolest galleries I have ever witnessed before my eyes. It's truly beautiful and the history behind the gallery makes it more remarkable. You should really go visit, but go in the morning because it will take a while to view the whole wall.

Good place to go and see. A bit far from central Berlin so consider two hours minimum if you decided to go there. It’s a pretty long walk and lots of people at the narrow walk path. Nice paintings though, makes you to stop and think about. Would not grade it as a “must see” but definitely the one you may want to consider going to.

Located along the Spree River, this is an interesting walk along a part of the Berlin Wall covered in art from the 80s and early 90s. There is only the information and graphics on the wall, so if you're a curious person, you'll need to do your own research. The area is currently undergoing significant redevelopment and is a fascinating contrast to the post WW2 Wall and 80s art and sentiment. It was somewhat disheartening to visit at a time when people continue to be blocked from moving to certain places and even separated from their families in attempting to do so. Accessible to all - bicycles, wheelchairs - although certain times might be better to visit as it can be quite congested. Take a hat, sunscreen and water on a sunny day as it will be hot and there is no shade.

Art and history meets in peace here. One of the must visit place for tourists, especially who are interested in graffiti art, painting and historical stories...it's not too long but still considerable walk. So good camera battery, water/drink and to match with the art some interesting clothes would make it perfect.

Beautiful and a wide assortment of well kept paintings which depicts several things but mostly focused on world peace. I loved them as I tried to place myself in the kind of the painter deciphering the expressions and content of each. It's free to explore the long stretch of walls making the east side gallery either by walking or even riding a bike.

This is part if the authentic Berlin Wall that has been painted and decorated beautifully. The Wall is very long, it runs along the river and so you can both see nice views of the river and wall. Further this is a great and fun place to take plenty of pictures! The wall can serve as a fun background. This truly is a fun and historic place that you have to visit when you are in town! And the artwork is so pretty, smart and meaningful, it now is a symbolism of change and unity.

We originally were not going to see this sight as it was a little bit of a ways from where we were staying and going but ended up stopping on the way to the airport (via the subway). This gallery is very cool and expansive with lots of artwork and history. I loved seeing each piece of the wall and looking at the artwork. There is a nice river walkway area about halfway through the gallery where there is a shop and a nice open area. When we went there was a nice performer and a good view of the famous bridge.

Great display of art painted along the Berlin Wall. We went without a guide and I think that was a bit of a mistake. Getting some detailed history of the artworks would have added a lot. Not sure how it would be in winter but it was fantastic on the hot sunny day that we went. I recommend taking some water along with you. Also, watch out for scam artists playing a cup and ball game on the pavement. It looks really easy to win and their are people in the crowd that pretend to be normal tourists, playing and winning. It’s all a scam and you will lose your money.

The east side gallery is a great free place to go and see while in Berlin. Just by looking at the art one can see the cultural aspects and history. During the day there are many tourists. At night however there are much less people. I would highly suggest a midnight stroke along the east side gallery. There is no entrance, it is just a wall at the side of the street with paintings on it. You can go 24/7. Hope you enjoy it!
