The Berliner Fernsehturm or Fernsehturm Berlin (English: Berlin Television Tower) is a television tower in central Berlin, Germany.
Located in the Marien quarter (Marienviertel), close to Alexanderplatz in the locality and district of Mitte, the tower was constructed between 1965 and 1969 by the government of the German Democratic Republic (East Germany). It was intended to be both a symbol of Communist power and of the city. It remains a landmark today, visible throughout the central and some suburban districts of Berlin. With its height of 368 metres (including antenna) it is the tallest structure in Germany, and the third-tallest structure in the European Union. When built it was the fourth-tallest freestanding structure in the world after the Ostankino Tower, the Empire State Building and 875 North Michigan Avenue, then known as The John Hancock Center.

Great afternoon spent sightseeing for miles. 14 EURO per person. You can get student Discount. You get an awe inspiring 360° view of Berlin as far as you can see with notable and historic sights mapped out around the viewing gallery to seek out. For romantic appeal head up for a couple of cocktails as you watch the sunset over the city. Great photo opportunities. You feel as though you are suspended in a tourist map. It's a warm and encric atmosphere packed full of a mix of different cultures. A must do in Berlin.

Great place to watch the sunset whilst having a couple of cocktails. At the top of the tower gives you amazing 360 views of Berlin. Go just before sunset so you get to see Berlin in the day, at dusk and in the evening. The people who work here also have a great sense of humour and are really friendly and helpful. The cocktails are delicious. I asked for something that wasn’t on the menu and it was no issue. I would definitely come back if I visit Berlin again...which I’m sure I will.

A must do. I'm not best at heights but felt it worth a visit. Great views. A bit crowded and warm. The elevator ride is quite interesting as you can see the up the shaft. If you come to Berlin then it is worthy of checking out as it is an incredible landmark.

My university organised a trip to Berlin for 6 days. After a couple of days of exploring this amazing tower would dramatically stand out from every other building. After a quick Google search I found it was the Berlin TV tower. I went onto the website and discovered that students get 20% of the adult ticket, so I knew I'd be visiting this. The experience was quite similar to the Amsterdam lookout tower. A cinematic lift takes you up to the top, with incredible views. The weather was sunny so everything was clear for miles. For roughly 11 euros this was a great attraction and I'd recommend it to anyone visiting Berlin.

We had lunch in the restaurant, on cold and sunny day. Food was nice, but we came for the view. As the restaurant rotates you have a 360 degree view of the city. Fantastic views! However it can be busy. If you are eating you are fast tracked and miss the line of people.

This was my first visit to a revolving tower and the experience was great. The foyer at the base of the tower is extremely modern and well maintained, with plenty of souvenirs available for purchase (although quite expensive). I didn't have to wait long to go up the tower after purchasing a ticket, was a very reasonable price. When it was our turn we were guided into the elevator to travel up to the top of the tower. The elevator shows you where abouts you are in the tower. I didn't go up to the restaurant but I did go to the the viewing plaza which was fantastic. It's definitely a good experience and something you should visit if you're in Berlin. It's a fantastic 360° view over Berlin, which is exceptional at all times of day. It can be a little difficult to see at night and take photos, since the lights reflect onto the windows. They also protrude outwards which can restrict the view. Apart from these very minor problems, it's a fantastic experience! Loved it.

Old Soviet TV broadcast antenna tower in Berlin, with a restaurant and bar at the top. Book fast track tickets ahead of time if you can to avoid queues, but you can buy once you're there if you like. Pretty cool place to get panoramic views of the city. Didn't try the food up top. Interesting journey up to the top, the big concrete central pillar is essentially just a lift shaft to elevate the top part!

Great to see the architecture and design. Best on clear day but pictures beside each window help clarify what to see and what you are seeing. You have to have ticket at the end to exit so retain it! Well organized and on time. Minus one star for brusque, unfriendly, inhospitable ticket cashier. Bought mine online. Can buy online for assigned time at tower usually selling for slots two hours ahead in my experience in March.

A beautiful landmark from the East Berlin Communist era, built in the 1950s Spectacular views of Berlin. Also has a restaurant and a bar. Getting in to the tower and going up is easy as you can get your tickets at the door, which will also Grant you access to the bar. However, to dine at the restaurant it is highly recommended that you make a reservation in advance as it is very difficult to find a free table at the door. I'm giving it a 4 star simply because the bartender at the bar is very rude to costumers and could be replaced with a more friendly bartender. I recommend that you visit the tower right before sunset so that you can have the most beautiful scenery while the sun sets.

A wonderful experience seeing the German capital city, Berlin from up there. With a fast track ticket you can be up at the bar or the restaurant within minutes. The view is spectacular! Well worth the visit! You could even get a picture (taken as you got in) printed after coming down to the ground floor, well, if you like it. Highly recommended to visit it!

It’s a wonderful experience for families, groups and grownups. You have a wonderful, amazing view over the whole city. The entry is a bit pricey but it’s a tourist attractions and it’s worth it. Upstairs you find also a restaurant with a good menu. On sunny clear days it’s really crowded and you have to wait in line for a bit. But when you passed this hurdle, you will get awarded with the greatest view over the city. Go for it!

Nice view of Berlin city from top of TV Tower. This was my second time in Berlin and I enjoyed the visit to TV Tower. I chose fast view ticket, but I would recommend for standard ticket as it requires only few minutes in queue. Choose the time carefully, it should not be too sunny or too dark, otherwise you will not enjoy much. Early morning or early evening is good time to visit.

Really recommend to buy "Fast track" ticket. We bought a normal one (there were no cues at the ticket office at all and that was misleading). After first attempt to enter they told us to come back in an hour. When we came, we waited for another half hour and then some additional 10 min in front of the elevator. With fast track ticket you also have to wait, but you know the exact time of entry. In general the tower is worth visiting. They have photos in front of each window, showing which landmarks you see. If you are with kids, it's fun to look through the windows and find buildings and churches which you see on those photos.

Visited during a long weekend to Berlin. The online ticket purchasing was straight forward and we arrived in plenty of time so did not have to queue for long before being able to go up. We decided to time our visit with sunset which I would highly recommend as the views were pretty spectacular and the colours of the sun set were wonderful. The information boards were great and the glass of German white wine we bought at the bar to enjoy as we walked round went down a treat. My only criticism is about the queueing process for exiting which doesn't feel like it is very well managed. The area gets very crowded very quickly so perhaps needs to be reviewed as that was where we had to wait the longest period was to leave! Aside from that, would highly recommend visiting as the views are worth paying for.

What an amazing view across Berlin. This is a must to experience the city from up high. Tickets can be purchased from machines outside or in the main reception. These will give you time slot and we managed to be up there as the sun was setting. Giving spectacular, changing views. The bar at the top is very popular so you might be fighting for a seat but there is plenty of space as you walk around to enjoy the city scape

A wonderful and great place to watch the sunset and the old side of Berlin. If you go to the top of the tower then you will see a greet and amazing 360 views of Berlin. It will be better if you can just go before sunset so you get to see Berlin in the day, at dusk and in the evening as well. The stuff are wonderful and have a great sense of humour. the stuff also very friendly and helpful. The are very cocktails are delicious.

An excellent visitor attraction. Easy to book. Friendly and efficient staff and wonderful views from the top. It was slightly cloudy at the time we visited and it was just our luck that 15 minutes after returning to ground level the sun came out, but it did not dampen our experience in any way Highly recommended

Nice experience. With the fast view ticket and the super fast elevator we reached the top of the tower in few minutes. At the top you can see an amazing 360° landscape of Berlin. In every window you can find the explanation of what you're admiring. I certainly hope to return and have lunch at the restaurant.

The amount of people were quite many so I would highly recommend the fast track section - it was extremely convenient and stress free! However, when you reach the top, especially on a summer day, there is no air conditioning up there. So, prepare to experience a heat wave similar to a sauna. If the climate was well balanced, we would've spent more than 20 minutes up there but because we literally could not breathe and our clothes were wet from sweat, we had to leave. Nevertheless, the views from above are amazing.

Bought tickets online and we were excited for a great, unique dining experience with an awesome view of Berlin. On the way to this location, we bought a local beer to enjoy the open container laws of Germany and to drink a cheap, tasty local beer before dinner. Up arriving to the door check, we were denied entry due to the door man observing our legal possession of an open container of beer. We were rudely told to leave and we were forced to make dinner reservations elsewhere. After a discussion with the door people, we were told that we were out of luck about our paid for, reserved table. I would love to review security camera footage and determine what exactly our misconduct was that led to not being allowed to this establishment.

It's an amazing experience and I would highly recommend it. From the observation deck, you can see almost the whole of Berlin, including a range of historic sites. The rotating restaurant above is also worth a visit but the meals are quite expensive and there isn't a particularly wide variety of food to choose from. Aside from that, staff were friendly and the service was quick.
