Spreepark is a former amusement park in the north of the Plänterwald in the Berlin district Treptow-Köpenick (formerly part of the GDR-controlled East Berlin). It was also known by its earlier name Kulturpark Plänterwald Berlin.
The entertainment park was opened in 1969 as Kulturpark Plänterwald, covering an area of 29.5 hectares. The area is situated in the north of the Plänterwald, next to the river Spree. It was the only constant entertainment park in the GDR, and the only such park in either East or West Berlin.

It was a very nice and peaceful walk around the outside of the old park but you are no longer allowed in the park withouy a guided tour. Which is most likely a full if you haven't booked them well in advance. There is a decent amount of construction going at the park now and they appear to be renovating the park.

We got fined on the train on the way over, do not recommend. In all seriousness it's closed off, there's not really anything left and whatever good photo opportunities once we're are all closed off or removed. Save you're picturesque Instagram posts for something else!

An interesting walk around the perimeter fence but not much more. There’s visible guards, with dogs, walking the grounds but to be honest I don’t think you need to chance your luck here. The views of the Ferris wheel, which is still moving, are good and you see glimpses of the rollercoaster and the water slide still.

It is beautiful and somehow awful at the same time. You can not get it (I am not sure if this is like this always or just during winter) and only seeing it from te outside does not seem enough. There are lots of signs saying be careful with the dogs but I only saw two fat guys inside smoking cigarettes wearing uniforms (looking like security guys) I hope it will be open for summer ! Looks like the perfect place for a photo shooting

You should go inside to have a look. Be careful the guards!
