The Tierpark Berlin is one of two zoos located in Berlin, Germany. It was founded in 1955 and is located in Friedrichsfelde on the former grounds of Friedrichsfelde Palace, which is situated within the zoo. As of 31 December 2013, the zoo houses 7,250 animals from 846 species, in an area of 160 hectares (400 acres). Tierpark Berlin also features two public exhibits free of charge, one being the Bärenschaufenster (Bear Show Window) for American black bears.
Tierpark Berlin is a member of the European Association of Zoos and Aquaria (EAZA) and participates in about 120 breeding programmes (EEP). It maintains the international studbooks for endangered species of deer and wild asses of Asia and Africa as well as the European studbook for little pied cormorants. The zoo further participates in attempts of reintroducing species to areas where they have become endangered or extinct and it financially supports selected in situ projects for the protection of natural habitats.

What a beautiful zoo. We were here for a good 3 to 4 hours and were not able to see it all. The falconer show (in German) is highly recommendable (the falconer can answer just about any question about their birds). All in all lovely experience. Visit this place if you want to take a walk in a park and see animals.

Loved visiting this place with our little 15 months old daughter. It is not any regular zoo. This place is a must go to with children of all ages. It has large spaces available for animals, an amazing water playground, a petting farm, a bird show, many places to eat or grab an ice cream. All in all I will definitely be back and will consider getting the yearly access pass.

Great zoo! Inexpensive entrance fee (compared to other zoos I've visited), only 14€ for adult, and children under 4 years old enter for free. Animals has spacious areas to wander, visitors has many trails to walk around. Perfect for kids thanks to a huge play ground, a nice petting area with lots of friendly goats and sheeps, and some free activities such as watching feedings and walking with llamas.

Love it. Calm place to visit in weekdays, but full of people on weekends. Animals have a lot of space for themselves and place almost doesn't have bars. It looks like another inch and you could touch animal. Animals super interactive and look happy. Petting zoo is awesome. But if going on weekend it's better to get animal feed early. Just a tip.

This is an amazing and giant Zoo!!! There are so many animals to see, that you can´t see it all in one day! And the decoration is also very pretty. This really is a wonderful Zoo that both young and old can enjoy!
