Regions Field is the name of a minor league baseball park in the Southside community of Birmingham, Alabama, U.S. It is the home field for the Birmingham Barons of the Double-A South, and replaced Hoover Metropolitan Stadium in the Birmingham suburb of Hoover as their home field. It also serves as the second home field along with Jerry D. Young Memorial Field for the UAB Blazers. Regions Field is located adjacent to the Railroad Park, just south of downtown Birmingham.
Baseball in Birmingham traces its history to 1885 with the establishment of the original Barons, and from 1910 to 1987, professional baseball teams called Rickwood Field home. In 1988, the Barons moved to Hoover Metropolitan Stadium, leaving the city of Birmingham without professional baseball. In 2009, a proposal surfaced to build a downtown stadium to bring baseball back to Birmingham. After a feasibility study was completed, in October 2010, the city lodging tax was increased to finance its construction and in November 2010, a tentative agreement was reached to bring the Barons back to Birmingham. Groundbreaking ceremonies were held for the new facility on February 2, 2012, and the park celebrated its grand opening on April 10, 2013.

Love going to Baron’s games. Easily one of the best parts of summer is Thirsty Thursday when they have 2 dollar beer, wine and soft drinks. Always crowded on this night but it’s a great and relaxing time. They typically have some sort of special going on each home game. Stadium is new so everything is nice and kept up well.

Great field! This was our first game and we loved it. Good for little kids. Lots of seats in the shade. Good location and the view is beautiful. Hot dog was yummy too!!

What a great experience! Parking isn’t bad, as there is lots of on-street parking. The atmosphere is fun and prices of food and tickets are affordable. There are lots of food and drink options for kids and adults. Word of caution: it gets chilly when the sun goes down!!

We come here after work on the weekends for a great time and place to watch the Barons do their thing. It’s great for people of all walks of life and ticket price ranges, there’s not a bad seat in the house. The only drawback is the lines for food are very long after the game starts, so get in line early or be prepared to wait for delicious “carnival-style” food, or a Birmingham-area food truck parked outside. My wife and I love going to the baseball games here!

Love the complimentary lawn chairs in seen out there. Haven't sat in one yet. Love the atmosphere. You can cop a squat on lawn and chill

Regions Field is a very nice ballpark for a AA Club. The Alabama alarm Association had our meeting there last month and it was fantastic as was the game and the great hamburgers. The ballpark is in an excellent location right across the street from Good People Brewing Company. Even though I'm at Montgomery Biscuits fan and we lost I still had a good time.

Regions field is a beautiful and fun place to watch a ballgame. ⚾ The staff is so friendly and helpful. A few love to joke around. My boyfiend and I had a blast.....we even bought hats. This place is very dog friendly and lots of fun events for families. The ball park food is so amazing. This park is a lot like the one in Indianapolis which I go to often. Last night was the second game I have been to this season. I hope to return for many more when I visit Alabama.

An excellent, modern ballpark with good food, great views, and an excellent neighborhood. Downtown Birmingham has been revitalized over the last decade and is now a great place to hang out with high quality parks, restaurants, and bars. I'd highly recommend a trip to Regions Park for a baseball game or other event and suggest staying around the area before or after to take in the benefits of the city.

Wonderful place! It is an incredible upgrade from the field of my childhood. Prices were reasonable, staff was helpful, and facilities were very clean. In this day and age, you're hard pressed to find all of these at a stadium of any sort... and Region's Field really nails it all.
