King's Chapel is an American independent Christian unitarian congregation affiliated with the Unitarian Universalist Association that is "unitarian Christian in theology, Anglican in worship, and congregational in governance." It is housed in what was for a time after the Revolution called the "Stone Chapel", an 18th-century structure at the corner of Tremont Street and School Street in Boston, Massachusetts. The chapel building, completed in 1754, is one of the finest designs of the noted colonial architect Peter Harrison, and was designated a National Historic Landmark in 1960 for its architectural significance.
Despite its name, the adjacent King's Chapel Burying Ground is not affiliated with the chapel or any other church; it pre-dates the present church by over a century.

Although it's not pet friendly I do enjoy my regular visits here. I also feel welcome and every time I go I try to learn something new. This is a great spot to bring a local cub scout troop or your favorite uncle.

We didn't get to check out the chapel as they had a service going on but the attached Cemetery was very neat to see especially what looked like a pit or just a well. To read and see the engravings on the head stones were very neat. The weathered and how they wrote on them back in that era was really nice to see. There was also a section covered in a type of Ivey was just beautiful. A site worth checking out for the cool factor.

Second church during our walking tour of Old Boston. A good stop for pictures and history. The current church started as a wooden building and if you want to see a reconstruction of that building using some of the original material, you will have to travel more than 500 miles northeast to the town of Lunenberg in Nova Scotia, Canada.

Awesome to see a church that is essentially the same as it was in the 1700s. Very historical sight. If you are able, the Bells & Bones tour was the best tour my wife and I went on in the city. You have to be able to handle a lot of stair and some low-clearance areas, but it is totally worth it.

Awesome old church. Experience it. Full of history.

We went for the bones and bells tour. I think in our mind we we're going into a crypt. More like a basement with some brick enclosures. More filing cabinets than creeps. That being said the tour guide was engaging and really had a lot of history to tell us about. If you want to know a part of history of Boston then this is an essential stop.

Going here do the Bell and Bones tour see largest Revere bell and crypt below with option to see into one. Understand crypt us storage area but guide gave interesting history and the end where you see in and see the rare crypt us worth it. Then the climb to bell and stories are great too. Guide was super and answered all questions. Church is interesting, but tour takes over the top.

My vote for best interior of a church (and I've been to alot)... spiral pulpit, no pews it has individual cubical areas like box seats numbered for each prominant parishioner and a special "Governers" booth and amazing pipe organ!

Almost exactly like the Old Church, but free to get in. (Donation requested but not required.) Staff we’re friendly and informative.

King's Chapel on Tremont Street is a national historic landmark and a particularly interesting attraction to see along the Freedom Trail in Boston. Entry into the church is free however donations are accepted at the front entrance. Historically, King's Chapel was founded as the first Anglican Church of the colony of New England in 1688 under rule of King James II. The present church building was constructed between 1749-1754 in Georgian architectural style, making it a unique building to see in this part of the world. Interestingly, many of the original King's Chapel congregation, loyal to Crown, fled to Canada during the outset of the American Revolution. Another interesting historical notation is that Paul Revere, while not a member of this church, is credited with having cast the church bell in 1816. We enjoyed seeing the interior of King's Chapel, finding the occasion signage and information helpful and easy to read. The pew boxes seen within King's Chapel are like those seen at several other historic churches in Boston. It was neat learning about families procuring and decorating the boxes during centuries past. Just outside the church, you can visit the small King's Chapel burial ground, which includes the markers of historical figures such as first Massachusett's governor John Winthrop as well as Mary Chilton, the first European female to disembark the Mayflower and set foot in the New England colony. In the end, we quite enjoyed visiting King's Chapel and found it one of the more memorable attractions on the Freedom Trail. This is one of the places we would be eager to return to during future visits to Boston.

This is one of those places you have to visit if you're touring Boston. The church is gorgeous and has so much history. As you walk through, you can sit in the pews or read the several posters. I wish you could walk upstairs and down in the basement.
