Took our 21 month old and she absolutely loved it. Happily went round about 3 times and was fascinated just watching the fish. Great price as well. Very busy for lunch time and not a lot of space to eat so give yourself time in your day to plan around lunch.

Despite the crowds at the weekends and the amount of pushchairs (even though there's a buggy parking place) it's a very lovely place. It's calming if you have anxieties, it's educational, exciting and makes you conscious of the environment. The food is great and worth the price in my opinion. All in all, this makes for a great date, family day out, educational trip or just a time filler.

Pretty good. They do have some great animals and who doesn't like an underwater tunnel. It's especially good on a nice day because you can go out to the beach for a while and then back in again.

Great day out for the kids. Just enough to light up their minds and justify the pricing (which is a bit hefty). Not just for rainy days, as the al fresco penguin enclosure is perfect for bright winter outings too.

Definitely did not expect so many creatures here. Must visit for children as well as adults. Takes about 1-2 hours for the whole tour. Probably longer with children. Sharks and tortoise were the best surprise!

The staff here are absolutely great and went above and beyond to help us out when I made a mistake with the tickets and didn't make it seems like I did anything wrong at all. Amazing personalities, really seemed like they loved it there and wanted us to enjoy the day! The place itself was nice enough and the food is good there. The talks are definitely worth a watch.

Great value for money and absolutely amazing animals! As a turtle/tortoise lover, I was not disappointed when seeing the sea turtles. The penguins were an unexpected surprise but Ioved how close then got and how interested they were in me. In depth facts are provided on the animals and a green screen souvenir photo is available.

Fairly small but a good variety of exhibits. The huge tank in the middle was amazing! Good location overlooking the ocean. Only disappointment was the shark tank experience which we were looking forward to but had lots of broken pixels. Definitely worth a visit though if you are in the area.

Not a bad visit. I do feel that the admission price is a bit much. Going through the tour it does look like the facility is poorly maintained. If you visit during mid afternoon you may even catch the time where they feed the fish in their 'barrier reef' section which does have two turtles, sharks and more. The staff members were very helpful and polite, although the staff that were feeding the fish in the big tank seemed to lack enthusiasm and professionalism - not great for the kids, which there was a few at the time of my visit.

What a place to go to!! My kids loved it. I loved it. Lots of information so you can learn all about the different animals they have. Feeding times are brilliant. Listening to them talking about the turtles and sharks. Love the fact you can leave and come back all day. So a quick sneak off to the beach. Then back for the feedings. The yearly tickets are perfect. Makes it worth coming any day all year round. We will be back again soon!!

I love this aquarium even though we live in plymouth (where the national marine aquarium is) it is worth the trip. My son really enjoyed it too. Its not very big but the animals are amazing. The only thing is that the main pool needs to be updated as its showing signs of old age and damage, however i still enjoy it all the same. Staff are friendly and helpful.

I loved it, it was very educational and had a lot about the effects of climate change and how we could help. The penguin feeding was adorable and the person giving the talk was very knowledgeable. The deep sea bit was so exciting and so were the turtles! The only downside for me was that it said online there were seahorses but I couldn’t find them. There was pipefish though! And starfish too. I loved all the different areas like Africa, Florida keys etc. I would like to return when the India bit is back open. Great aquarium.

Great day out with my little one. Fascinating array of sea creatures. Reasonably priced and all displays were appropriately maintained. Ideally located on the beach and there is a gift shop and cafe with hot food and drinks.

Was much smaller than I had anticipated. We went towards the end of the day so we pretty much had the place ourselves. The cafe area was nice and we managed to have our food with nice views of the beach to look at. Staff were very friendly and approachable and didn't put pressure on us to end our tour quickly as they were closing. All in all a good little visit but definitely not as big as I had thought it would be.

Visited Oceanarium first time and it was a easy entry after purchasing tickets via the website. Simply walked in and shown the e-ticket to scan and obtained our hand stamp and pass. Lots of sea creatures to see and really enjoyed the penguins and the big turtle. Great for children and families. Recommend

Oh my days! Niche little aquarium in Bournemouth showcasing a wide variety of aquatic species including penguins, piranhas, turtles, sharks, etc. Watch out for the not so aquatic...lol..., ie crocodiles or was it an alligator? Guess you'll just have to visit and find out for yourself. Prices may seem a bit on the high side, but my 10 year old daughter enjoyed it immensely, as by the looks of things, the many others that filled the site juxtaposed with the excitement of the children.

As aquariums go... and I can admit to having been to a few... this is a good one. One of the big attractions (imho) are the turtles but there is a great variety of marine and freshwater life in clean looking and well presented tanks. Plenty to stare at! We spent a good afternoon there and also enjoyed the talks.
Alex Sim | Jul 23, 2018
Pretty good Oceanarium. Entrance fee is okay for what is usually a 60-90 minute trip. The talks are sometimes a little muffled but with something to listen to every 30 minutes there's a great schedule for the day. The staff are very friendly and the kids enjoyed the day.

Been here twice before in the last couple of years and visiting again on Friday! An absolutely lovely little aquarium with such an array of creatures. Last year I took part in the feed the sea turtle experience and it was incredible to be able to come that close to such a beautiful and majestic creature!

Loved this place! Lots to see, reasonable price and good location. I was staying nearby so wasn’t worried about parking but there was a car park nearby. Adults and kids would enjoy this.

Great to visit for the entire family. Tanks are clean and fish are all healthy. Otters are fun to watch (if awake) and the large turtles / tiger shark are the highlights. The new penguin enclosure is also well worth a visit. And yes... I found Nimo

Love the Bournemouth Oceanarium. The penguins are amazing and so endearing to watch. All the creatures are so worth seeing and spending time with. The only pity is that the cafe has hardly any vegetarian food on the menu. Only a few hot things like jacket potatoes and on hot days nothing suitable at all. I wish they would change the menu.
