This is the only city gate that has been preserved of the medieval fortifications and ranks among the oldest town buildings. It has 51 m 8n height. Built around 1300. The tower houses the exhibition of Weapons of Bratislava City museum. During the coronation of 19 Hungarian kings in Bratislava, the ruler would make a stop at St. Michael's Gate, where the new king would pledge his king's oath to the hands of the archbishop. They also say that if you are a student you pass the gate in great silence otherwise you will stay a student 😊

The Michael's Gate is a landmark in the city and it is the only city gate that has been preserved of the medieval fortifications and ranks among the oldest town buildings. This is a must if you are in Bratislava. It requires more attention and maintenance according to its historic value.

Good for pictures. Not really interesting. There isn't any sign, telling the story of the place, or, at least I couldn't find one.

One of the symbols of Bratislava, the only preserved city gate from medieval times. You can go inside to visit Museum of historical weapons and enjoy the nice view on the roofs of historical city center.

Beautiful spot in Bratislava. There is a zero point under it so you can find how many meters you are from home. It's at the end of the main pedestrian street of Bratislava Old Town. Definitely worth it!

Nice area to walk around. Michael's gate is a tall structure you can walk through. It's part of the old walls in the city. Worth a walk up to but I suppose it doesn't take too long to see it.

In the 14th century, it used to be the entrance to the fortifications; it is not a weapons museum and touristic attraction with great views from the top.

Museum of arms + terrace high above city centre. Museum takes you through the entire history of arms around Bratislava. From ancient to modern times with a couple of foreign arms on top. View from the tower terrace gives you a view of the large part of the city centre from above. Definitely a go to place during sunny days in Bratislava.

This is the only city gate preserved from the medieval fortifications. It was built about 1300. Today it houses the Exhibition of Weapons of Bratislava City Museum. There is a magnificent view of the Old City, the Castle, and surrounding areas from the balcony on the sixth floor.

Beautiful old historical gate. Here you can find a big metal plate on the ground just in the gate which the distance from many famous contry capitals are calculted and mentione on it. Ot is interesting. These distances are calculred from Bratislava to many capitals in east asia to west european countries. It is located in the biginning of old town which many tourists go there to visit. Just less thank 600 meteres from Michal's gate you can find famous statue on the ground which is called Man atvthe work. Enjoy

Great Old Town place. Full of cafe restaurants and irish pubs. This is a place that has to be visited if you are in Slovakia.

A really nice place to spend one day there. We walked a lot in this area around and it was very nice to see the shops. If you look around you will find a lot of nice bars, cafe and sightseeing options. It feels very touristy but that is normal in such areas. We spend some days in March, so the weather was almost perfect. But I am very sure in summer is this place very chill! If you like wine look around the small streets there are some nice wine bars around.

This is one of the mist popular and most important historical landmarks in Bratislava and should be included in any city visit. Make sure to take a printed guide to get details on the historical significance of the site.

There is a museum inside the tower, the entry (with student or senior discount) is just 2,5€ and includes the pharmacy museum (a little upwards on the same street) and the arms Museum which is located inside the tower. The exhibitions on the arm museum is poor and unsurprising but it is worth going upstairs to the pinnacle of the tower from where you get an awesome view of the Castle and the old city. The pharmacy museum is a small two-room space where old jars are shown, not quite worth it unless you are into old pottery, plus it doesn't even have toilets.
