Kirriemuir, sometimes called Kirrie, is a burgh in Angus, Scotland. Its history reaches back to earliest recorded times, when it seems to have been a major ecclesiastical centre. Later it was identified with witchcraft, and some older houses still feature a ‘witches stane’ to ward off evil. In the 19th century, it was an important centre of the jute trade. The playwright J.M. Barrie was born and buried here, and a statue of Peter Pan stands in the town square.

Felt nostalgic at Bon Scott statue .. Kirriemuir is a beautiful wee place ..defo worth a visit 👍
This is a fine bronze life-size statue ,car parking on site within walking distance of kirrie town centre ,there is a small museum and usual assortment of shops cafes etc
Lovely wee place and cool statue. Information board present to learn a bit about Bons life.
Ticked off on my bucket list, loved seeing where Bon was born and spent the early years of his life .
Being a lifelong AC/DC fan, this statue is amazing. It perfectly captured the spirit of Bon with the pipes and is a great tribute to him in his Scottish hometown. The fencing around the statue even has the classic AC/DC lighting bolt on it! If you wander up to the top of the hill where the statue is at the bottom of, you'll also find a plaque on the ground dedicated to Bon. Well worth a visit!
It is all about the music. Best place to be this weekend.
Awesome, not to be missed. Bonfest is also a fantastic weekend too
Cracking day for bon scott festival. Good wee toon to spend an afternoon. Pubs are braw tae...
Brilliant . Time for a statue to lord gerald griffin
The statue is awesome and a great likeness! Well worth the trip from Australia.
We specifically dropped in on this on our way through Scotland. A fitting tribute to a man who in my opinion doesn't get all the recognition he deserved. One day I'll make it to his grave in freemantle.
Statue is at the bottom of a steap sloping Street in a car park which is fine for people with mobility problems as it is a big area and all flat the only issue would be if someone tried to push a wheelchair up the street for a drink or ice-cream it would be very difficult.
I like Kirriemuir, lovely wee village. Bon Scott's statue was an added interest.
What a surprise to find this on our travels. Original and well loved lead singer of ACDC.
