Love Bempton Cliffs. The Gannet colony is amazing, and here & there you glimpse the kings of cute; Puffins. The visitor centre is really nice, with a little cafe selling drinks, sandwiches & snacks. The staff are friendly, knowledgeable & helpful. Well worth a visit if you're in the Bridlington/Scarborough area.
Bempton Cliffs are amazing. A beautiful walk along the cliff tops and a haven for bird watchers. The 1 star is for the RSPB charging a £5.00 "admission" for access to a public footpath. Public footpaths are free and no-one has the right to charge for access. It should be made clear at the till that this is a voluntary donation, not an admission. This is a deliberate attempt to deceive. If you walk to the top of the car park, look for a red sign that says no vehicular access. You can join the footpath for free there.
Brilliant place to see seabirds on the cliffs and excellent set up for people with disabilities like myself. Scooters are available for hire for a donation and three of the main viewing platforms are totally accessible. The visitor centre is very well run with toilets, cafe and inner and outer seating all accessible to people with mobility issues. Top marks to the RSPB!
The most amazing place to visit! The RSPB have made easy access, pathways and viewing points. Wonderful views and of course the variety of birds ... we even managed to see puffins whilst we were there! After our cliff walk we had a lovely coffee and chocolate cake from the cafe. I would recommend the visit even if you think you're not interested in birds. Thankyou RSPB for giving us a memorable day .
Odd set up? there's a £5 entry to access the public footpath through their cafe.... Or you can access it on public footpath for free? Should really be a recommended donation not entry fee as that isn't what it is really. Folk would likely be more inclined to leave donations if they made some simple adjustments here
Fantastic place and the staff are really helpful. Jamie, who explained everything to us not only engaged with us but both our kids. Yes they will attempt to get you to join and donate. Minimum is £5 for a family of 4. That said there's no pressure to do so. Nice little cafe on site too and ample parking.
Stunning location, beautiful in sun or cloud and the aerial acrobatics of the birds is mesmerising. Highly recommended for young and old, easy to navigate for pushchairs or wheelchairs and dogs are welcome on a leash. Its a lovely place to bring a picnic or use the cafe there. The coffee is cheap compared to most high streets and there's a nice shop too. Get along and show some support for this unique local landscape. It is probably the north's prettiest place that no one has heard of!
We had a fabulous day out here on a beautiful, sunny day. Very atmospheric with the sound of the birds & the waves crashing below the cliff. The staff were extremely friendly and very knowledgeable and the whole place was extremely clean & tidy. We took a picnic but the food on offer looked lovely. There is a gift shop selling a range of items to suit all budgets. In all, we enjoyed a great day out!
Brilliant. Good access, great for walks, birds, nature etc. Toilets and drinks available. Staff really helpful. Free to members or £5 but as it is a public right of way I would suspect if you need access just to that, they cannot charge you.
Love this place. Saw absolutely hundreds of puffins which was lovely. Always enjoy the walk along the cliffside and also really brilliant views of the coast line! Not a bad price either! Would recommend!
Parking toilets and cafe although you can take your own food. Also picnic areas. Several areas for watching different types of birds. The main attraction though are the clifftop gantry's where there is often someone who can help point out the different species.
Great place for birdwatchers and photographer's. I love coming here to see Puffins and get close to the 1000's of seabirds that come here to nest. As a photographer, I like to get here at sunrise when the light hits the cliffs and for the next few hours. The sun rises and goes behind the cliffs around 11am when I visit, so all the birds on the cliffs are in the shade, which isn't the best light for taking photos. The visitor center had got bigger and better over the years. You can get a bite to eat, control the cameras that are placed on the cliffs, or try out their optics they have on sale.
Stunning location. Great walks. Amazing views. Perfect for bird spotting. There is also a cafe here serving quick bites, tea, coffee and a range of other beverages. Great for all the family.the staff are lovely too, and very knowledgeable. Would recommend to all.
Good for seeing the sea birds. Saw a few puffins in April. Some areas too muddy without Wellington boots so would be difficult for those in a wheelchair but several viewing areas can be accessed easily by the disabled.
Amazing day! Saw at least 13 Puffins. The cliffs are gorgeous and the staff is there setting up telescopes to help with sightings. The £5 binocular rental is well worth it and a must.
First visit, popped over on the news there were Puffin sightings yesterday. Indeed there were Puffins a plenty. This a great coastal site with easy parking and very accessible paths and viewing platforms. Also has great little tree sparrow area.
We were lucky. As we arrived the sea fret retreated giving us a warm and sunny afternoons bird watching. The staff were friendly and very helpful and made our stay all the more enjoyable 😊
Great place, we visit every year, sometimes just the two of us, but often with family members and our god children. It's fascinating watching thousands of birds constantly flying out to sea to catch fish and coming back to the cliffs with their beaks full of fish to feed their young. There is a large car park, small café, gift shop and toilets.
Fantastic place to get the binoculars out or the camera. Plenty of birds to see, there's a cafe on site along with a shop selling souvenirs. Staff are very helpful and knowledgable. When I go we tend to park at Flamborough lighthouse and take the walk along the cliff tops. (Approx 12 miles return trip) the cafe is very welcome at the midway point.
Fantastic place to watch seabirds nesting on the cliffs. Gannets arriving at the moment. It was a bitterly cold day, but the visited centre was open. Staff are very welcoming and friendly. Lovely hot drinks at the end of the walk.
Amazing place. Good for walking distances. Good pathways so scooters can be used. Birds are so close. Within feet. They fly past your head as if you're not there. And loads of staff/ volunteers to help u. U can walk for miles along cliff edge. There are also platforms which jut out over the edge so u can get a better view. Brilliant. They serve good coffee and cakes as well. And some food. Or u can eat your own food indoors or outdoors.
Staff friendly and great with my kids, explaining all the bird types, identification and interesting facts. Nice cafe and drawing items to help give the adults some quiet time. Saw a barn owl hunting in the nearby field just before leaving and I like to see my kids taking such an interest in nature. Come here fairly regularly.
