Preston Manor is the former manor house of the ancient Sussex village of Preston, now part of the coastal city of Brighton and Hove, England. The present building dates mostly from 1738, when Lord of the manor Thomas Western rebuilt the original 13th-century structure (part of which remains inside), and 1905 when Charles Stanley Peach's renovation and enlargement gave the house its current appearance. The manor house passed through several owners, including the Stanfords—reputedly the richest family in Sussex— after several centuries of ownership by the Diocese of Chichester and a period in which it was Crown property.

A wonderful place. Lovely gardens. The house is lavishly furnished. The resident ghosts caused a bit of a furore for the two female visitors. Our lovely guide was very informative. Apparently, she's a ghost magnet! Sounds a bit spooky but no harm done. It's well worth a visit.
Nice house and garden, but it could be so much more with the right investment, but unlikely to happen while owned by the council.
Lovely house but meeting room was very cold.
Outdoor cinema at Preston Manor garden was absolutely superb - cosy, well organized.
Great local museum, set in an old manor house it shows what life would have been like at the turn of the century. Also got to see the breath-taking Doreen Valiente collection while it was on show in 2016. Magickal!
It is a very interesting place to visit with young children. It gives a glimpse of daily life in the 1800s and what working in a Manor house required from domestic employees.
Great National Trust style Manor House near Preston Park, about a half hour walk from the centre of Brighton. The tour was self guided, with information sheets in each room. We particularly enjoyed the servants quarters with their low ceilings and the below stairs with a waste not want not fireplace. The gardens are nice and there's a small Chapel with colourful wall paintings.
Hidden gem in Brighton. Excellent and knowledgeable staff on hand to guide you. Well worth a visit.
I have been to Preston Manor once since secondary school and it looks beautiful and very old so I would recommend for anyone who’s never been to Preston Manor before.
Great time here great listening to all the facts from staff and seeing the rooms
