Good fun. Kids loved it. A bit expensive really, which has stopped me from coming in it before, but with a Groupon offer it made it worthwhile. Decent views, but the fun of the wheel, makes it fun enough for the kids. It's good to combine with a view to eat at one of the awesome restaurants at Little Stanley Street to make it a more fun day out.
I came here with my partner and we both really enjoyed the views of Brisbane and the experience of the Wheel of Brisbane. We went while the sun was setting so it was a beautiful sight. My only down side of the experience was the commentary which, although was interesting - we wished we could have either turned it down or even turned it off at points to just enjoy the views without any sound.
First time taking the family up. 6 year old just loved it. It's beautiful to see the city by night. The full price is expensive (understandably why) for a family but having a 50% off voucher (Entertainment Book) made it worth it. It's nice to actually get a good 10 mins and a few times around.
Great views of Brisbane, friendly staff, fun and relaxing experience. I’ve done it during the day time and would definitely consider a night ride. The only down side was that the commentary sound level was too loud and could not be turned down.
Had a lovely time on the Brisbane Wheel at South Bank. The wheel went around 3 times but I feel they could allow about 5 times given the price of the tickets. Nice views too as it wasn't raining. Good for a visitor to Brisbane to try.
My children and I love going on the Wheel of Brisbane. I think it is good pricing but I have heard complaints it is expensive- for my 5 children and I, I actually thought the pricing was excellent. You can purchase a photo afterwards which is a great keepsake especially for tourists or special occasions. They have package deals for couples, families etc. Great location and you spend plenty of time on the Wheel, air conditioned, allowed drinks (purchased at reception), private cabin, you can take photos as you take in the spectacular views. I think its best to ride at night. The City lights are lovely to see.
I never in my life thought I would have EVER spent $20 (about $16.50 USD) to ride a Ferris wheel, but how can you pass up "the largest Ferris Wheel in the southern hemisphere"??? Top 10: 10: Air conditioning! 9: It's huge 8: It comes with an informational pamphlet 7: Recorded commentary describing various landmarks and local history 6: Air conditioning!! 5: Spacious and comfortable (enclosed) gondolas 4: CLEAN 3: AMAZING views 2: The walk to and from is amazing too! 1: In the middle of an historically horrible heat wave IT. HAD. AIR CONDITIONING!
The price is a little bit steep but with a Groupon it makes things easier to swallow. It's a nice view both in the morning and at night. If you want to see Brisbane from a different perspective then this wheel might be for you. I say it's steep but it's not the worst price for a wheel I have seen. I was just on a tight budget at the time.
We went on a date in Southbank that finished with a ride on The Wheel Of Brisbane. The views were absolutely amazing we were lucky enough to have a clear night with no clouds making the reflection of the lights on Brisbane River looking as if it was on a mirror. The Gondola you are sitting in is all glass surround giving you a 360 view of our wonderful city. Nice and clean and also air conditioned which is nice for a warm summer night. Not something you would go on every trip to Brisbane but definitely something you don’t wanna miss out on. Family packages were available and there is also the option to buy your photo that they take before you go on after your ride. Fairly secure place to leave our pram if you have one, it is overseen by staff but of course at your own risk.
An iconic landmark on the South Bank skyline, The Wheel of Brisbane is a breathtaking way to take in a 360-degree panoramic view of spectacular Brisbane city. Rising 60 metres above the ground in the safety and comfort of a fully enclosed, air-conditioned gondola that seats up to 8 people and is perfect for everyone. Visitors can experience the sights by day, the lights by night or book an on-board dining experience to spoil your loved ones. There are no reservations required so explore the Brisbane metropolis from one of the best vantage points in the city.
We all had a great day at the Wheel. Ten of us were given antipasto and a choice of drink (both alcoholic and non alcoholic ) while we took our ride. Afterwards a group photo was taken. Once paid for they gave us a booklet with 3 photos and emailed us with a link to access the photos so we could share them with the group. The staff were friendly, safety conscious and professional. Thanks everyone!
Never thought much of it but it was an amazing spot for a surprise wedding proposal from my fiancé. Informative ride with many historical nuggets supplied. However, I got the jitters which I have never had on a ferris wheel before! Maybe because the other ones I've been on felt more enclosed. 5 enjoyable rounds for a memorable evening. It adds a colourful touch to the skyline viewed from the city!
It is very round and has good views of Brisbane. It would be nice if it was a little cheaper however. Overall, I would recommend doing it once if you are visiting as it is a fun experience and gives you a good view of the skyline.
It looked better then what the experience was. 3 times around and Photos are not as good as I had expected. Crossed off the bucket list. Note I'm not a fan of heights or things that go around so in fairness It might appeal to people who enjoy this sort of thing,
Loved it.. great views. Several rotations of wheel so can get great views and photos.
Stunning views and very pleasant even the two ladies i took were terrified. Smooth quiet and good commentary. Some pics taken from the wheel and my friend who took some coaxing to get on, has the biggest smile. Price is great. $17 pensioners/students $ 20 adults. Worth the ride.
