Good place, lots of materials. Good materials. English AND German speaking. Friendly personnel. They have a garage where you can put your stuff overnight (9 euros for a week). But: it's not near the lift, you need to take a lift or the bus to the main lift. And it gets very busy on Sunday mornings

I am an experienced skier who went to this area with a beginner. Large ski area, however only few "blue" runs of can be recommended for beginners or more advanced skiers who want to enjoy carving. Real good extended practise slopes are only runs 64 and 98 and these are not groomed regularly. Many blue runs would be considered as red runs in other countries. None of the runs down to the villages aside from the narrow family run no. 40 towards Söll are really blue and for beginners, most of them were in mediocre shape. Best villages for beginners and families are Ellmau and Scheffau. For experienced skiers, all villages are good to enter the scenic skiing area. Cross-country skiing: irregular service, often close to the main roads with traffic noise.

Absolutely massive ski resort with lots of high speed lifts and groomed runs. They also have a sledding run which is lighted for night-time usage. One can also rent sleds here so all you need to do is show up with warm clothes!

Big ski area with large amount of ski slops and lifts. Some of the red slops are a bit tricky (for the less adventures ones) but u can always find a way from the side to manage.. Great ski school with fair prices. Lot's of apreski areas.

The piste map and direction on the piste are absolutely terrible. I'd forgotten how easy it is to not have any idea where to go next in SkiWelt. Such a pity that they haven't improved the signage in the fifteen years since I was last here.

Beginners and intermediates, stay away. The grading of runs is very questionable, many of the blues were more tricky and challenging than reds elsewhere and some blues lead to red runs with no alternative. For experienced skiers (comfortable on red, black...)this is a great resort with lots of variety and great fun parks and jumps. The main problem is that some runs marked blue would be red anywhere else and signage at lifts is terrible, instead of informing what slopes are accessible from lifts or intersections a map of the 284km of slopes is displayed. To compound the issue some of the lift operators don’t seem to know the grading of the runs at their lifts. A number of times this resulted in our group of mixed experience levels having to navigate unsuitable runs. Suggestions for improvement: Grade slopes accurately. Improve signage at lifts and at intersections. Ensure blue runs end at lifts and are confidence building(not destroying).
