The Belfry itself was fantastic, and it's so cool seeing it up close and seeing the whole city. Be aware that there is a lot of climbing with narrow stairs. There is no organization, and some tourists are rude AF. Someone is going to have to yield, and it's only natural that it would be the person who has access to the corner. Good luck with that. The staff were extremely rude. They would randomly yell at people for crossing a line or for not paying quickly enough. They were nice enough to me, though.

Amazing view. The stairs are a bit difficult but trust me it is totally worth it. The view from up their is magnificent. The museum part of the belfry is also good. Also wait for a few minutes when you reach the top to witness the mechanical movements of the drum and listen to the music. Every fifteen minutes a different song plays.

Very high tower, completely out of proportion to the rest of Bruges. Hundreds of stairs, pretty hard work even for the reasonably fit. Numbers are managed at the bottom so it doesn't get too crowded. It was quite busy in February . I guess queues must be long in the summer. Views at the top are absolutely worth it.

Definitely worth visiting. A bit of a queue to get in but moves quite fast. An interesting history and great views.

Good view from the top. It requires some stamina to climb all the way up. Stairs are narrow. Ticket price is 12 Euro for adults. The same ticket allows entry to some more monuments ans museums nearby for next 3 days.

One of the most visited monuments in Bruges. But not all stay back in queue and leave early. Yes, it has a long long queue. Which moves quite slow. So be prepared to stay standing and waiting for at least an hour. There are 2 ticket counters only one for cash and other for credit card which are quick though but the reason I found for long waiting time was that only a limited number of people are sent upstairs depending on number of people who come back. So you have to climb total of 366 stairs which getter narrower as you climb up the Belfry. Expenses here: 1. 12€ per person (aged more than 25) and 10€ for younger ones and yes if you take any discounts you need to show the age proof. 2. Queue time of 1 hour at least. 3. Climbing up manually no stairs. But what you get in return is an experience of understanding the whats and how's of a Belfry and an amazing view of Bruges from above. Be cautious when climbing up, if any respiratory issues or joint pains I would ask you to skip it. Be extra cautious when climbing down. Coordinate passers by patiently as the same stair is used for climbing up and coming down.

Amazing venture. To get to the top is an achievement. The stairs are narrow and winding. But the views once at the top make it worthwhile. Give yourself plenty of time and take it slowly. You will be rewarded.

Just familiar to in old European cities. But i find impressive all of them and this one is on top. Its height is 83 meter. You can climb to tower by foot. It takes 366 steps! You should be careful that some passages of stairs are quite narrow. On the top, tower provides a panaromic view of Brugge. It also provides lovely music of carillon with 47 bells. Ticket price is 8€ for young, 10€ for adults.

A great little walk up a very cool, very original feeling tower. The small stops and exhibits along the way are great to break up the trip for families or people who want to go at a slower pace. For the adventurous, you can get to the top in about 10-15 minutes depending on the crowds. Expect to spend about an hour here if you want to enjoy the exhibits and the views, it's well worth it.

Only a certain number of people can ascend the 366 steps to the top of the Belfry at any given time do expect to queue! Several stops with information about the Belfry after climbing a certain number of steps. Great 360 degree views once you have reached the top. Ascent & descent are via the same stairs which are narrow in places and can be a little tricky, especially when you are descending and other people are trying to come up.

366 steps - at times rather narrow. Great little workout with views of the city as your reward. I would recommend you to go early; I barely had to wait when I visited just before 10am. Once I came down though (about 10:45am), a little queue of around 20 people had formed. The Belfry works on a 1 in, 1 out policy, so try to be arrive off-peak if you can to avoid queuing.

Great views from the top, but a steep price (compared to similar attractions in France and Belgium) and a steep and narrow climb. Staircases are for people going up and coming down, although there is a restriction on the amount of people allowed in at one time. Ticket gates operate on a one in, one out policy. We had to wait about 20-30 minutes until we were able to go up. Price is €12 for over 26 years of age. Don't try and fake your age as they do ask for proof of ID. Overall a good view, but don't go up if you're claustrophobic and don't like heights!!

The hard climb to the top is worth the views. The price they charge for entrance and I assume what they consider a small "museum" is a little high. Really you just want to go up 366 steps to the top. They only allow so many people in the belfry at a time, so lines can be long depending on time of day. I thought the views from the top were worth it. The stairs do get narrower as you go up.

Definitely worth the trip to the top. Get there early as the lines form quickly. They only let a certain number of people through at at time so the stairs don't get too crowded. There are three levels where you can take a break on the way to the top (366 steps). Great view and you feel a part of the history of Bruge.

Beautiful building that's worth the €12 to climb up and see the spectacular views of the city. There are info boards in several languages as you climb to get a feel for the history of the belfry. I happened to be at the top when the bells chimed which was pretty cool :) Also I was lucky to catch a carillon concert (when you could sit in the square below and listen to the bells playing different music for a couple of hours)

After climbing numerous stairs of which an exact number will be told on the entrance the traveler will be greeted with beautiful view of the city. From the top of the tower one can see the entire panoramic view of the city and in the same time enjoy the sounds of activity coming from the city market. Be prepared for the climb and in the end you will be rewarded with the beautiful view. In the interest of full disclosure I will state here that I have visited this place only once at the time when this review is written and the full exploration has not been completed. There is a possibility that the place has changed and that this review may not correctly reflect the current situation at the site. The best course of action would be to make a visit to the location, explore as much as possible and make your own judgment. In case I visit the same location again, at some future point in time, and my opinion changes drastically, as to require the new grade, then this review will most likely be updated as well in order to reflect that change but no promise are being made here.

A fantastic spot for both cultural significance and just sheer beauty. Climbing the stairs you are seeing stairs worn down by the climbing of people over many generations, the view from the top is just amazing and if the climb doesn't get your heart rate up then you are definitely fitter than I am. Definitely worth the €12 to climb up, even if just to see the interesting workings of the clock and bells. Definitely a must see in Brugge.
