Bruges ( BROOZH, Dutch: Brugge [ˈbrʏɣə] (listen)) is the capital and largest city of the province of West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium, in the northwest of the country, and the sixth-largest city of the country by population.
The area of the whole city amounts to more than 13,840 hectares (138.4 km2; 53.44 sq miles), including 1,075 hectares off the coast, at Zeebrugge (from Brugge aan zee, meaning 'Bruges by the Sea'). The historic city centre is a prominent World Heritage Site of UNESCO. It is oval and about 430 hectares in size. The city's total population is 117,073 (1 January 2008), of whom around 20,000 live in the city centre. The metropolitan area, including the outer commuter zone, covers an area of 616 km2 (238 sq mi) and had a total of 255,844 inhabitants as of 1 January 2008.
The story and the film itself are not that good. I mean, you don't get a sense of life in ancient Bruges. You get lost in the love story (which in my opinion is not that good). I wouldn't recommend it to anyone unless they want a hearing and smelling experience, that's the only thing it is very good and precise about. However the view upstairs to the Market Square is breathtaking. One can visit without paying the ticket, because there's a bar you can have a snack and drink a local beer.

Amazing! Very well designed and thought out historical multimedia experience! That's how learning should be done! Thank you!!

A very cool museum which uses technology like vr and special rooms designed to look just like brugge in the golden age wirh hidden TV's, robots, and even smells included; to show the golden age of brugge. One of the most innovative museums ive seen

Nothing special. An overview on Bruges history which mostly consists of a video-based exhibition telling a poorly written fictional love story set in medieval Bruges. Could be fun for children.

Beautiful experience! Must try: 3D virtual tour

Indeed has some interesting content, but hardly makes a museum. It’s more of a narrated Wikipedia page for which you pay €10+. The story is not interesting at all, and does not tell anything that is not obvious about the city. An obvious rip-off, like most things around Markt.

Really immersive tour. Maybe you don‘t learn as much as you would in a traditional museum, but I liked the feeling of being inside the story of Bruges in the 15th century.

Don't expect it to be a museum, it more like a walk through cinema. It is a fun experience, but a bit pricey 14€ for a 30 min story.

Good Fun Place. Lots to see. Good Restaurants.

I would describe this place as a ride for kids/teenagers not a museum for adults. I’d suggest to better use the time to explore the city and spend the money in chocolate or beer. It has a balcony with a nice view of the market’s façades though. So If you end up here, at least you’ll be able to get some good pictures from the balcony with the market as background.

I would recommend this for kids, but not as much for adults. Despite being in such a neat looking building, I didn't feel like I really got to see much of the real inside of it. Semi-interesting, but definitely not a can't-miss experience.

Nice piece of history, worth the money. With technology you go back to old Brugges. Better than the choco museum.

Wow, this is the best museum I've ever visited. They have made an interactive movie about the history of Bruges with a very authentic sound effects, which is presented in different rooms. This creates a unique atmosphere. Besides, there's a virtual reality room, where you can watch a journey through the medieval Bruges. This is an interesting experience, although I think it isn't really worth the additional 6 euros (adult price without discounts). Still, the main museum showplace is a must see.

Great experience through the history of Bruges with a sweet love story. it's a guided tour inside one of those old buildings of the main market. You go through carefully crafted rooms following a story. The rooms take you back to medieval Bruges with items (probably) from that time. In each room you smell, see and hear something particular. I loved the experience. Kudos to the people who created it. I strongly recommend a beer or coffee in the brewery of this place on the first floor. A room that dates back to 14th century with a nice view to the main market!

Vary nicely done, especially for kids. The begin story is cute but small historical value. Did I learn something, yes, but not that much. Price value bit off. Just one of those things to do in Bruges which ends up in a bar ;)

Pretty decent attraction, has a lot of potential but just falls a bit short. Some of the characters are a bit creepy in the walk through but all in all a solid visit. The VR experience is pretty cool but I think with a few upgrades in the future, it could be something really great. Nice panoramic view from the exhibition.

My boyfriend and I bought the “Thirsty Traveler” package for under 20 euro and it was awesome! Even if you decide not to go through the production I highly recommended the bar! It is such a good view of the Markt and the drinks are well-priced.
