Bouchout Castle (Dutch: Kasteel van Bouchout) is a castle in the Flemish town of Meise, Belgium. In the 12th century, this territory of the young Duchy of Brabant was strategically positioned between the County of Flanders and the Berthout family, lords of Grimbergen. Most likely, the first fortification was built by Wouter van Craaynem at the end of the Grimbergen Wars (1150–1170). Bouchout Castle is situated at an altitude of 32 meters.
At about 1300, the Donjon tower of Bouchout Castle was erected by Daniel van Bouchout, a knight who fought gloriously at the Battle of Worringen. In the 15th and 16th century, Bouchout Castle was owned by the Van der Marck and van Sevenbergen sayd Transylvanus families. The castle fell into disrepair due to lack of maintenance, while the Spanish dominance and the iconoclastic fury further worsened its condition.

It's a really good, calm and beautiful park. You have to pay the entrance. It's 7 euros. The park has a good infrastructure with a "tram", bathrooms, a shop and a restaurant. The botanic part is Amazing! They have a beautiful and modern "house" where they have distinct weathers. You can't use your bike in the park, but you have an specific place to park.

Wonderful park to enjoy a day wondering around the huge park surrounded by nature, there is a castle, green house to discover world's plants and atmosphere, small open air cafeteria and souvenir shop. Reasonable entrance fee, easy parking. Very nice.

Fantastic gardens, quite crowded at the weekends but with it for the magnolias, rhododendrons and the very well maintained greenhouses

Beautiful garden with a lot to see for a very fair price. I recommend taking the 4 seasons subscription which costs only 20 euro!

Great place to see all sorts of flowers, trees etc. Some more exotic than others. One thing to note is that you are better off going in the off-season like spring or fall. But all done and said, a very enjoyable place to walk around and enjoy nature in, would recommend it

Nice grounds for a stroll, though it's a shame you can hear the highway. The greenhouse is huge and has a lot of interesting plants. Students/seniors get discounts.
