Most of it was under rennovation and we couldn't get in. The part that was open was the Dacia column... Which was interesting but disappointing when I found out it was a fascimile not the real thing... All in all quite a let down for a place I had high hopes for.

The National Museum of History will appeal to all people even those who don't really care for museums. It has exhibits from the ancient era like Orders written in stone by officials of the roman empire, greek writings and so on. But the most impressive part for me was the Romanian Thesaurus which includes the Royal Crowns and their history.

Nice museum with lots of dioramas some of them really good. A complete visit will take about 3 hours minimum. Some information was only in Romanian. That last point was a pity but could be understood as they have audio guides. You can pay by credit card, so no need to have cash.

If you don’t speak Romanian, you aren’t welcome there. Almost nothing is in English for tourists to be able of enjoying the exhibition. So even if it is pretty nice, you have no idea what you are actually looking at. I hope they will change it.

Is not opened full museum. Main part are Greek artefacts from Tomis and Callatis and also replicas from Rome Traian column.
