The best way to run all Budapest! They have routes that covers all main attractions. A lot of stations. The buses every 30mins passes from stations. In prices including the boat ride. They have tourist guidance in 20 languages. The buses are old and some times dirty. Avoid the night tour if it's cold and raining, due to the high humidity and the passengers breathes you can't see outside the windows. You don't have to take the card from the central station or at the market, you can persuade it from every station and even on the buses.
Great price. Makes seeing the sights easy and hassle free. Could not recommend these services enough if you fancy seeing the sights.
I know there are always pros and cons to everything. We didn't have a very good experience with this bus company although it started off well. Waited for bus for more than an hour in vain. Finally decided to taxi to our next destination. We were glad that we only bought a 24 hour ticket. Will be sticking to the Sightseeing hop on and off in future.
The waiting time of this company it bad. I waited over an hour one time and over 45 minutes two other times. There are not many staff around at the stops to help you if you need it. And if you get a few day pass keep your headphones as u won't be getting a second pair. Although I gave up on the second day because of the waiting times. It's good value for money I have to say but only if you do everything included in the ticket. I wish I had paid more money and gone with another company. Who's buses were a lot more frequent and cleaner.
Was not a success. Buses did not keep to the timetable and it wasn’t the fault of the traffic, the other tour companies managed to get through alright. The commentary was sporadic; the staff seemed bored apart from one nice chap who kindly warned us that buses were one per hour in the afternoon. It is confusing to the tourist that all the posters show a big red double decker but it is exactly like another operator who has numerous buses. The boat trip was well organised though we had hoped to hop around the city and take in the sights, not spend half an hour waiting.
I bought the three-day hop on/ hop off Budapest bus tour 👍 The drivers are excellent! The staff are also great. Most of the staff I chatted with are long-term employees (versus seasonal employees in most tourism industries). I found their routes more detailed than other companies.
Worst company for city bus tours. They were late all day, I had to change my plans and barely used them. The first bus I took rode for 5 minutes and the driver's seat had a problem so we had to leave the bus to wait for another. I called the office to get my money back and was offered the night line as a courtesy, I was told to ask the driver assistant for the tickets. When I asked her she was very polite and was explaining to me the situation when the driver started yelling at me in Hungarian to leave the bus. I lost my headphones in the ruckus. When I caught the last bus ride I asked the assistant for headphones, was told it was 1 Euro, I tried to explained that after all the incoveniences I wasn't going to pay for them. She gave them to me but was complaining that she didn't know if my story was true and that it wasn't her fault that happened. They do not take responsibility for their companies faults. hey have no customer service.
Terrible service ... more bus changing then being on the bus late to bus stops Rude staff ... best way to see the city is to walk or use other transport dont use this bus service

Dreadful, dreadful and a lot more dreadful. I generally avoid writing poor reviews as I don't want people to think I'm a grumpy old git. But ... I was bitterly disappointed with Giraffe Hop on Hop off. Here is why ... Firstly, the people on the street who are there to "help" you have no idea what is going on. They are just out of school (or Uni Students) and really don't care. They have no idea of where the buses are and just tell you what you want to hear. The staff on the buses are no better. Now ... I have a lot of experience with the staff as I was told, by the hotel that Giraffe was the best. Hence, we bought the three day ticket. I met a lot of people waiting for buses and being on the bus. Biggest waste of money. The only genuine people were the bus drivers. However, the interactions with staff were minimal and so can't define the whole experience. I'm on the bus to learn about Budapest aren't I? So, what did I learn? Nothing really. Seriously. Budapest is a rich city with culture abound. It has a long history and I would think that the bus company would ... I don't know ... talk about it. Nope. I was told about the roads I was travelling. I was told about the buildings I was passing ... not the historical significance of the buildings ... but they are currently selling!!!!! Hold on. I did learn one thing. About a guy who was pushed down a hill. There's a waterfall there. I remember this as it was repeated on every one of their buses. Nothing like rote learning to get the point across. I travelled on every coloured route and learnt nothing about the culture. The people. The history. The buildings. Nothing. Why did I keep going ... good question! I think we were hoping for something better. As for the timings of the bus. Again, don't believe a word of their timetables. The traffic in Budapest is horrible - which doesn't help. The timetable suggests they come every 20 mins. Nope. Didn't happen once. They were never on time - if they turned up at all. And, at the weekends, they move the pickups! But don't tell you!!!! And don't get me started on the bus which was supposed to take us to Budda Castle and drove past it and wouldn't let us get off. He was supposed to stop 6 times. He stopped once. At the end. WHAT?! He was quite surprised when I asked him to take us back. I paid to get to the castle. He dropped us at the bottom of the hill. Requiring us to walk 100 steps. Take a life (after paying for it) and then walking half a kilometre to get to the changing of the guard. Thank God I'm not old or disabled. So ... Disinterested staff. Bad timetables (if they stop at all). No information from the staff. All the things I didn't want from my trip to Budapest. Next time I go there ... I'm heading for the Big Bus Company. I don't know if they are going to be better ... but they can't be any worse.
Terrible service. Buses take one hour or more to come. Personal lies again and again about timetables, some of them are even rude when you ask them. The installations are awful, old and so unconfortable. Also, with an insane hot inside which is unbearable in July. The information you get through the headphones is limited and vain. There are lots of sightseeing companies in Budapest, just don't choose the "giraffe one" if you don't want to waste your money and your time.
There are several hop on hop off bus companies in Budapest. I do not reccomend this company as their buses run much less frequently than other operators, we purchased a 2 day ticket and on both days experienced lengthy wait times. In particular at the stop in front of the Synagogue, there were 5 City Siteseeing buses that went by before a Giraffe one came. Choose another operator! And be wary as they market themselves very similarly to City Siteseeing.
