We visited on a cold, rainy January day which made it a little hard to spend too long examining the statues, but a very interesting place nonetheless. The preservation of these statues is an interesting approach to the country's communist past. I'd advise visiting the museum first and then walk the park as there isn't much clear infor on the statues (especially if it's cold as the building isn't heated so if you go in cold you won't linger long!) But definitely worth seeing. Some of the statues are hugely powerful and all tell a story unique to Hungary.

The park is worth a visit from Budapest, it takes about 45mins by metro and bus, but is a very easy straight forward route. The museum is informative, and the statues are interesting to see. I would have loved to do the tour/bus direct from Budapest, but it's only twice a week, not the whole year round

Very Interesting place to visit. Not wheel chair friendly. Would be great if they had the headsets so you could walk round yourself than in a group. 👍👍👍👍

This place is awesome! I find it fascinating and a great way to preserve history without leaving them up to glorify a horrible regime...It's not support convenient to get to and the price is not cheap.

It's a quick little park with some interesting statues of Soviet era leaders. There was also a really cool white cat that seems to live here that was very friendly, and a welcome distraction for small children.

It is quite a trip on public transport and the signs to get from one means of transportation to the other isn't clearly marked, but eventually we got there. The entry fee is sensible and there is a little shop to buy soft drinks and souvenirs. There is also a toilet to use. The park is huge with impressive statues and short descriptions of them. Very spacious, I would imagine it could host more statues. The history of the revolution is very detailed and easy to follow in one of the outside buildings. To my understanding this is an ongoing project, so expect some feeling of unfinished work, but definitely worth the visit.

Interesting park filled with old Soviet statues and memorabilia. Some pretty cool (and big) statues but mostly from the local area. Not quite as many as I thought there would be, but cool nonetheless. Cost about 1500 per person and kids were free. Make sure you check out the bunker as there are several busts of Stalin and Lenin below.

It's fun to see and the training movies used for new secret police agents are priceless. The horrible communist statues are what you would think. The shop sells a guide that explains about each statue, where it was located in Budapest, and when it was taken down. This makes the statues make more sense. Otherwise they are just comical looking statues. I'm giving three stars as I would have liked to have seen more statues and more explanations at each statue. If you have time to come see this park, absolutely do. If it's a choice between this and something with more cultural significance like the National Museum, go see the museum.

Kind of an interesting, quierky, historical place. Being I'm a photographer it was fun to visit. It is pretty far out of town, so it's debatable if it's worth the trip. If you are only spending a few days in Budapest I'm not sure it would be worth it. I enjoyed it. Taking the train and bus out there is a small adventure. It was interesting to see the outskirts of Budapest. If you have the time I'd say take the trip.

This outdoor museum is a pretty extensive collection of cold war and soviet statues and art. My friend took me here when I was visiting her in Serbia. This is a place you truly have to visit if you are interested in history or this sort of topic! Its not expensive and the little shop had all these "mementos" for sale plus drinks and snacks which was pretty cool! Highly recommend this place to any photographer. When I did research on this place, public transportation is available but I heard it is quite a hike from central Budapest. My friend drove, and they have a lot of parking available. Highly recommend!

Memento Park is a must-see for history buffs and anyone interested in seeing the remaining statues and monuments from Communist era Hungary. Such relics are extremely rare and a very important part of history to reflect upon. I highly recommend buying the guide book if you can't do a guided tour (there were no guided tours the day we visited) as it provides information on each statue as well as a comprehensive history of Communism in Hungary. According to the website, there is a bus that runs from central Budapest out to the site once a day but as we went later in the day, we had to take a taxi. It really is quite a ride outside of the city but if you think this is something that will interest you, you're probably right!

This was a wonderful experience. Definitely worth going off the beaten path to visit this park especially if you are a bit of a history buff. Hungary has a complex past and seeing these statues definitely helps give you a feeling of what it was like during the times of communism. Read up on the history first, then go visit this place as you will have a better experience since you will understand the history of the statues a bit better. The building housing the exhibition has great information in English and really helps transport you back to the 50s and 60s of Communist Hungary. The souvenir shop is also really interesting as they have artifacts from the time period available for sale. They are touristy prices obviously but worth it for being able to own a memento of history.

Well maintained, well organized, pretty interesting collection. Read description carefully before schedule a visit to avoid disappointment (at least a half day trip from downtown Budapest). Typical wysiwyg. Collection of artwork from the socialistic (not communist!) era. Some of them are pretty ridiculous, some of them are pretty good, some of them are supposed to be memorials only. No, they do not want to create nostalgic feelings towards the past era (many Hungarians do that by themselves anyway). They simply collected and saved some artworks. From that point of view I think it'd be appreciated.
