The National Museum of Decorative Arts is an art museum in Recoleta, Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The museum has its origins in a marriage in 1897 between two prominent members of turn-of-the-century Argentine high society: MatÃas Errazúriz, the son of Chilean émigrés, and Josefina de Alvear, the granddaughter of Independence-era leader Carlos MarÃa de Alvear.
This gigantic and beautiful palace, enclosing collections of decorative art, is worth a visit by itself. French style architecture at it´s best. It was originally a home for a four members family!

Loved this place!!! So beautiful palace, it's unbelievable that someone lived there. Then you should go to the coffee outside the palace called Croque Madame.

The building itself is the main attraction. Downstairs guided tour very helpful to appreciate the many architectural curiosities. Upstairs not so much.

This is always been one of my favorite museums in Buenos Aires. They often have special exhibits that are there for a short period of time. If its a bright modern exhibition Hall

An amazing small museum. The entry fee is low. The collection of tapestrys and other artworks are extensive, considering the manner and period in which they were collected. The building is also quite beautiful. They often host other temporary art exhibits.

Beautiful building and home to a fine collection. I was there on the long-weekend for the Bauhaus show which was absolutely rammed - must return during the week when it's a little quieter!

Amazing building, with a great in house collection and very good rotating schedule exhibitions. Last one was a very complete retrospective on the Bauhaus, including a live feature ballet.
