The Teatro Colón (Spanish: Columbus Theatre) is the main opera house in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is considered one of the ten best opera houses in the world by National Geographic. According to a survey carried out by the acoustics expert Leo Beranek among leading international opera and orchestra directors, the Teatro Colón has the room with the best acoustics for opera and the second best for concerts in the world.
The present Colón replaced an original theatre which opened in 1857. Towards the end of the century, it became clear that a new theatre was needed, and after a 20-year process, the present theatre opened on 25 May 1908, with Giuseppe Verdi's Aïda.
Gorgeous opera, with a visit during 40 to 45 minutes. The explanations are interesting and you can ask as many questions as you want. This place is definitely worth visiting (in English, Spanish). Just breathtaking.

It's 300 pesos for guided tour. The ticket is available online and also ok to walk-in. When it's said that the ticket is sold out in the website, please do not believe it. We was to buy ticket online but it's fully bookend but when we go to buy at the place the ticket is still available. So check out there. The architect is nice. There are stories behind the theater so it is worth taking guided tour. The theatre does not offer shows in January. So you can plan ahead for it.

One of the best Opera Houses anywhere, but management as you can guess is not up to that standard. Try going to the Colón a day with 40 degrees C outside, they don’t turn the Air Conditioner “on”, not even at the coffee places. The show was wonderful, I saw Cascanueces. There is no valet parking but there is an underground parking right across the street under the park.

Stunning building. Peculiar orchestral selection but pleased to have attended a live performance. Seat prices reasonable.

One of the best theaters of the world with the best acoustics. It's a beautiful historic building. You can see concerts, ballet, opera, etc. All the renowned artists in the world have performed here. It's a must! It also offers day tours to see the costume and scenography workshops, backstage and other areas not commonly open to the public.

I do the tour each time I visit Buenos Aires. It's really incredible. I wish the organisers could offer different tours like the dressing rooms and costumes rooms or the roof.

Beautifull building with classic architecture. The place have a café and guided tour but If possible try to see a show there. I went to see the Orchestra from the city and the show combined with the atmosphere were an amazing experience.

It's a great place to visit huge theater fully illuminated and a gorgeous architecture. The visit inside of theater need a ticket about 20us. Is really expensive since its only for visiting. The neighborhood is really dark and need more assistance as police routes. In general a great place to know

So beautiful! The tour is so amazing and thorough. Also, since the theater is functioning one gets a different experience each time depending on what performance is going on that day. 100% worth it
