The Torre dell'Elefante (Italian: "Tower of the Elephant") is a medieval tower in Cagliari, southern Sardinia, Italy. It is located in the Castello historical quarter of the city.
Fairly steep and narrow wooden stairs to climb up the four levels. Definitely worth the climb. You'll be rewarded with a beautiful 360 view of Cagliari. Small cost of €3. Interesting history which you can read about at the tower. Look out for the elephant sculpture at the gate.
Torre dell'Elefante or Elephant's Tower took its name from the presence of a small marble elephant on a ledge sunk into one of its corners, according to our tour guide. This is another drive-by tourist attraction to see by the City Tour Cagliari.
If you're walking around the city you should have to take a picture of the little elephant. If it's open then get inside. Really good view from the top of the tower!
One of the attraction in Cagliari. Important things to know before visit: - There is a combo ticket that include this monument for 12€, it's worth (you can get the ticket in the same place). - Single ticket is 2€. - There is an elephant sculture in one side of the tower. If you don't see it you can't say that you visited it. - Wonderful view of the city. - It was a prison and a place to hang criminals. Don't hesitate to visit this place, it's worth spend time here.
Stunning view over the City. Definitely worth visiting. There's also an elevator close by if you can't walk up.
Its a gate with elephants. I liked it.
It's always impressive to wonder the Elephant Tower, especially by night!
Must see place in Cagliari. The thing is it was closed when I was there in the middle of April 2018 so I could only take a walk around the tower. On the official website of the city there were no information about renovation works during that days
Looks nice from the outside, never got to enter it since it was being renovated. I think it's not a good idea to close a place for renovation in high season, hence the average score.
