Enjoyable day out. Reasonably priced. Choices could be better in the cafe. Will take picnic next time as plenty of areas to sit and enjoy picnic.
This was our 3rd visit to Linton Zoo and as always I had mixed feelings. It is smaller than our last visit and definitely felt slightly run down. For the size of the place I feel that the entrance fee is on the steep side. However, the staff are friendly, the animals appear healthy and well kept. Also, there were obvious signs of improvement works taking place. I read the guide when we returned home, which gives a fuller understanding of the park's aims and ethos, which changed my initial attitude to my visit. Things to note; parking is free, there are toilets on site, there is a small cafe and a play area for children. Yes, it is small compared to other zoos and fairly pricey, but we'll be going back one day to support them. Oh, and they have dinosaurs!
I love this place. I have been taking my twins since they were 14 months old and they absolutely love it. Its the kind of place you can go to spend an hour, or spend four hours. We have season tickets and every time we go (probably once every 1 or 2 weeks) we discover a new animal. I think my girls like it because with lots of winding paths and trees and flowers, everything feels hidden and exciting. It makes it a new adventure for them each time we go. It has an excellent ethos and I hope that as my daughters get older, they will have developed an understanding of wildlife and the need for conservation. Can't recommend enough.
Excellent use of a relatively small space. You're always near an interesting creature. And the gardening makes it a very pleasant place to be. We went in late spring and the animals were all pretty active and engaging. The kookaburras laughing chorus was great!
It's a small zoo, but we'll laid out with lots of benches to sit at and a couple of good places to have a picnic. Nice little play area too for the kids. Nice assortment of animals too. Could be improved by more child friendly info boards up with facts about the animals. Gift shop is small but reasonably priced and situated in the cafe area which is great, mum can have a coffee while the kids explore and decide what they want!
The lemur experience is well worth the price and knowledgeable, friendly staff add to the visit. A committed and hard working team who take pride in their work both in the zoo and its conservation programm
Better than I hoped for. Brilliant value. Great for small kids and older people. Not too big and over powering. Very friendly staff and keepers who are passionate about the animals and making sure visitors have a close up experience. Even the cafe and gift shop excelled my expectation, offering good healthy home made food,
Went with my missus on one of the first opening days since the winter freeze. Most animals were understandably asleep. 4 stars as we waited for the keepers to feed the animals at the noted times which never happened. Regardless, it was a lovely place. Makes a change from all the concrete high end zoos. Nice little place. Recommend!
The zebras and tortiouses have a bigger cage than the lion's and tiger's cage put together, there is a cage with 3 lions in a small cage that is smaller than the tapir's cage!
Very nice local zoo. Surprising to see a snow leopard and tiger. Loved the giant tortoises and everything is well laid out and accessible. Seemed a bit short staffed in the cafe/shop and staff appeared to be inexperienced. Don’t order breakfast a minute after midday- they will not oblige.
Great place, excellent and knowledgeable staff. Would recommend it to anyone. Especially if you book the Lemur tour.
Fabulous place to visit. It is an animal sanctuary rather than a zoo. Lions are amazing we'll looked after. We'll worth a visit.
My son has sponsored definitely the snow leopard for the last two years we are both season ticket holders and very much enjoyed visiting the conservation centre during each school holiday. Everything is very reasonably priced a hot chocolate is only £1.50 and the staff are extremely knowledgeable and always willing to answer questions and speak about the animals in more detail
